Action/Voice

I- I think I'll just start ignoring holidays around here; they're way too dangerous.

[ At long last, Usopp is free of that damn mustache and quite glad for it. The village is no longer looking like a slab cut out of Thriller Bark, and the store is free of any and all imaginary bodies/ghosts/stupid staring masks ( Read more... )

[Did you say he'd be at the shop looking out for zombies? Because the moment he turns around, Wolfwood will be right there like an awful priestly ninja.]

Usopp, how's it goin'?!

[ Why so skeptical, it's foolproof. ]

It at least means not having to talk about them again. And that's a pretty good deal.

I guess that can work. Unless it comes back to bite them in the ass someday.

Oh, it usually does.

Then why do it? If you have to face something, wouldn't it be easier to deal with it right off the bat?

[a chuckle]

Not that I haven't done something similar a few incidents in my lifetime-I think everyone has. But then, I've noticed it never really works out like you want it to. Better to try and handle it before your problems take root in more than just your mind.

[ One of those 'wtf are you on' looks. Not because that doesn't make any sense (it does), but because that's just not how Usopps handle things. ]

I think the easier part depends on what you're avoiding.

Typically, the things people avoid are a little serious than the usual little problem or two in one's day, aren't they?

[Not so much a fact in the form of a question as it is simply a question; he's not entirely sure about this guy, but was he the kind of avoid every little issue, or mainly the bigger ones?]

Sometimes. [ Shrug. ] It's easier to leave that kind of stuff for when you can actually handle it, usually. If you jumped right at everything the second it turned up, you'd probably end up having a heart attack.

[ Or something like that. ]

Hmmm... I can see your point there. Facing something when you're not ready is never a good thing. But there are some things I don't think anyone's ever really ready to deal with.

...I certainly wouldn't want anyone to have a heart attack, at any rate.

Try asking about this stuff over the journals sometime; everyone's different around here. [ He says it goodnaturedly, at least, because it's very true. Luceti can offer up debate on anything. ]
