but in light of my recent argyle fantasies, i was pleased to see this and this. i'm also excited to find that roos - with pockets - are back! in the meantime i will be forcing myself not to buy several ridiculous choices that i really want, such as cowboy

1) The garter thing really weirds me out.

2) People are so insane, with community rituals, aren't they? They force you to be all, "NO THANKS, REALLY", and it's very uncomfortable.

1) no doubt. me too.

2) I've had someone actually grab my hand and try to drag me to the catching spot. I was beyond "NO THANKS" at that point and into "LET ME TAKE THIS POINTY UNCOMFORTABLE SHOE AND STICK IT IN YOUR EYE". But really, same result, everyone is uncomfortable...

Those checkerboard Vans are so cute! There are far worse fashion crimes of the 80s to be worried about the return of, like off-the-shoulder sweatshirts and fringed boots.

I was at a wedding once where a single participant dove out of a window rather than accidentally catch the garter.

He was married within a year.

Oh yeah, at another wedding, I caught the bouquet. No respect, I tell ya, some people have no respect for tradition.

I think it's an amusing tradition, but only when both bouquet and garter are included. Bouquet-tossing-only weddings are teh scuk.

i had tons of those kind of "sailing" shoes when i was a kid, but mine were like, esprit, and all blue and sedate...

Aren't they GREAT?! I think I am going to try to convince myself that the first ones are a necessity for work!! LOL I can't wear sandals starting next week, but as long as the toes are covered in such a fashionable way...?!
