Thanks, epilepsy, for choosing to remind us all, at 3:15 in the morning, that you have not gone away.

However, I'd like to remind you that it's been exactly a month and a half since you last struck the sadcat with a seizure, and the vets and I consider this a victory. In fact, I've already lined up Christmas petsitting and everything. I am on ( Read more... )

Do you bite your thumb at it, sir?

(Epilepsy owes me like twelve hours of sleep at this point, the cheap bastard.)

Oh Rick! D: The poor baby. :/ And a month and a half is a victory for him to go between attacks. Give the poor thing treats and tell him Mommy will make it better... after you've slept for a million years. ♥ :3

Including pre-and-post seizure weirdness, the whole process takes anywhere from 10-15 minutes of stumbling, drooling and twitching, with the actual seizure taking up 1 1/2 a minute. After that, it's like somebody flips a switch and nothing ever happened (except for the drool-matted fur, that is). He's totally, obliviously happy. And starving. So at least it's easy to go back to bed without worry once he's back on his feet!

Hahaha! Poor thing likely doesn't know what's even happening to him. Dali as far as I've seen has had two seizure-like episodes a couple years back. Like she'll be trotting along and then all of a sudden fall over and curl up into a twitching ball and after thirty seconds shake it off and trot on. @_@ Her second attack happened when my parents and I were bringing in groceries and she was investigating the bags and all of a sudden her back legs just gave out. X_X In the case of Dali I just panic at any little bump and scrape she gets into since she was a very sickly kitten and still has a few issues.

Yeah. Obviously we are such overbearing cat parents. D:
