Нагарджуна Конда: «Nothing is permanent…»
2 месяца назад перед отъездом из Непала наш Лама рассказал нам о Нагарджуна Конде. Поэтому место было внесено в маршрут :)
«The Hill of Nagarjuna, 150km southeast of Hyderabad, is a peaceful island in the middle of the Nagarjuna dam peppered with ancient Buddhist structures. From the 3rd century BC until the 4th century AD, the Krishna River valley was home to powerful empires that supported the sangha (Buddhist community of monks and nuns), including the Ikshvakus, whose capital was Nagarjunakonda. It’s estimated that this area alone had 30 monasteries. The remains here were actually discovered in 1926 by archaeologist AR Saraswathi in the adjacent valley. In 1953, when it became known that a massive hydroelectric project would soon create the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir, flooding the area, a six-year excavation was launched to unearth the area’s many Buddhist ruins: stupas, viharas (monasteries), chaitya-grihas (assembly halls with stupas) and mandapas (pillared pavilions), as well as some outstanding examples of white-marble depictions of the Buddha’s life. The finds were reassembled on Nagarjunakonda.» (from LP 2011)
Nagarjuna Konda museum: The museum houses all the important excavated items including relics by Buddha himself, stone images, Jataka tales encrypted panels and many other inscriptions.

Много лет назад мне приснился сон, очень яркий, в котором я на огромной высоте находилась над сине-зелёным океаном и наблюдала, как исчезают под его волнами материки и цивилизации, и как рождаются новые…
…Нагарджуна Конда как раз об этом… О прекрасной долине в устье реки Кришны, в которой столетия назад было построено более 30 монастырей разных традиций, величественных Ступ с реликвиями Будды и ещё много чего, о чём мы уже никогда не узнаем - долина надёжно погребена со всеми своими сокровищами под именно в этом месте созданном водохранилищем… Лишь остров в его центре хранит скромные останки былого величия…
Архитектура строений, амфитеатр и греческий профиль и тога Будды подсказывают, что это был расцвет греко-буддизма (http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%93%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BA%D0%BE-%D0%B1%D1%83%D0%B4%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%B7%D0%BC ).
