Summer was glad to be back in Fandom. She didn't want to be home right now. It was all too much of a reminder of Marissa, of how things should have been. Everything was changed now. ( Newport just didn't feel like home anymore. )

Chris got back to the room. "Hey," he said, happy to see his roommate back. "How was your trip?"

Summer smiled when she saw her roommate. "Hey Chris. It was okay."

Of course it wasn't, but she wasn't ready to talk about it yet. Instead, she continued to pet Pancakes. "Thanks for taking care of her for me."

"Did you miss me?" Summer asked the bunny. There was no response other than a nose twitch. She turned her attention back to Chris. "So, have I missed anything interesting while I was gone?"
