Weirdly, if you're having trouble with a particularly bad section of crunchiness, adding a bit of noise (or kind of classier dithering) can often help. Large swatches of similar colors are more likely to be compressed, while most file formats will leave busier sections of image alone. Additionally, using noise/dithering creates an artificial third color between the two tones the computer recognizes. Which is especially helpful in dark tones where, for whatever reason, computers don't seem to be able to render fine value changes.

Thanks for your advice, it will help next time when I will make something! I know I hadn't enogh patience to play with blur/noise on those trouble zones, next time I will be prepared. And I'm very flattered that you like my work!
