Alright, I'm not sure if anyone can help me out here, but at least making a list will be helpful for me, haha ( Read more... )

As a tongue in cheek thing you could sing The One and Only by Chesney Hawkes! hehe
On a more serious note how about these suggestions:
Hallelujah - almsot any version lol
Mercy - Duffy
Whats Going on - 4 Non Blondes
Runaway Train - Soul Asylum
Here Without You - 3 Doors Down
Almost anything Alanis but I would probably suggest Right Through You or Hands Clean.
Hold the Line - Toto
I'm Not In Love - 10cc

I got a ton more, but I dunno if I am helping lol

Just a sidenote also, if it were me I would try and think outside the box and go for something that not many people might have done, but is still popular and round loads! :)

Yeah, a huge part of my problem is that I'm almost exclusively into musicals and don't listen to a lot of the more recent pop and rock music... So I have a significant amount of trouble knowing what would be familiar enough to be recognizable to them... *sigh*

But yeah, if you have any more I'd love to know. Even if I decide not to sing them, it's always great to have more types of music in my life. =)

Got loads! lol
I am into music in general so I might as well put myself to use! lol
Just curious, what is your vocal range? Soprano? Alto?

More suggestions include:
Life is a Highway - Tom Cochran
Almost - Bowling For Soup (a favourite of mine and you can change the words slightly to work for a girl)
Rockin' The Suburbs - Ben Folds Five
Almost anything Billy Joel! Legend!!!
Died In Your Arms - Cutting Crew
Rock n Roll Dreams Come Through - Meatloaf
Actually there is a few good Meatloaf songs...

You got MSN? lol Probably easier with all my ramblings... Still got more.
It also depends on what kind of statement you want to make with the song and such... Hmm.. I really should have looked more into Music Management than giving up as easily as I did! lol

Haha, I have a pretty wide vocal range, sang alto 2 for like, ever... and then one year my choir teacher was like, "Just kidding, now you're gonna be a soprano okay?" and I was like, "alright... why not?"

Unfortunately I don't have MSN =\ but if you want to keep listing here I'll be quite pleased. (I ALREADY owe you truckfuls of metaphorical cookies and even more love, lol.)

Sidenote though, Bowling for Soup is my favorite band so seeing them on your list makes me smile. =) Any chance you could get back into music management?

If you wanted to go Disney you could do something such as Colours Of The Wind.
You wouldn't want to appear too childlike but you would want it to be fun, no?

You could do the new Katie Perry song "I Kissed A Girl", it is funky and catchy!!
Or Kate Nash's Foundations!! I love that song!
With Or Without You - U2
The World I Know - Collective Soul (OMG one of my faves ever!!)
Should I Stay Or Should I Go - The Clash
Thats Entertainment - The Jam
Two Princes - Spin Doctors
If You Could Only See - Tonic (Amazing!!! <3)
The Winner Takes It All - ABBA

I think Hallelujah is a really good choice.

Beatles:
Because
Blackbird (especially if you really pay attention to crescendos)
Dear Prudence
Eleanor Rigby
Here, There and Everywhere
Hey Jude
I Will (it's also a really emotional song)
In My Life
Michelle
Real Love
Yellow Submarine (it's hard to make it sound really good because it's a little bit of an awkward song, since Ringo has an awk voice)
Yesterday

Also, I think there's an a cappella version of Penny Lane, so maybe look into that?

I have other ideas if you don't like any of those (like, non-Beatles pop/rock songs).
