All I want is love, Jared thought to himself as he walked around the park with Hartley and Sadie. He couldn’t help letting his mind wander. Since he came to Los Angeles he had hoped that it would be easier to be himself, his gay self and find someone to share his life with. The thought of trying to do that in Texas was kind of scary. The men were supposed to be born and breed straight and manly men.

Jensen jogged in place as he looked around the park. The trees swayed with the gentle breeze that hit his skin and made him feel refreshed. He jogged a few more minutes then stopped to stretch out a bit and take in the scenery change. He looked around the park and saw couples strolling along holding hands, families having picnics and some tall guy walking his dogs.
As he looked at said guy, he couldn’t help but really look at him. He was tall, dark shaggy hair that was lightly sticking to his forehead from the heat and a smile that could make you melt. Before he knew what he was doing, Jensen was walking towards him.

Jared stood there with his dogs and thought of what to do next and when he turned he saw a very handsome man walking towards him. As he came closer he could see his features in more detail. His hair was short and spiky, blond at the tips, freckles sprinkled on his face, his body was to die for and he was bowlegged. “I guess he’s from Texas” he thought to himself and smiled. It didn’t hit him till the sun caught him but he had the most amazing lips he’d ever seen. Porn worthy lips. Jared started to fidget as the man finally came to a stop in front of him. All he could hear was his breathing as he just stared and watched the man smile.

Jensen’s feet had a mind of their own. He stopped right in front of the dreamy man and smiled. He could tell that the guy was fidgeting but overlooked it.
“Hi, I’m Jensen.” He stretched out his hand and was rewarded by having his hand shaken by a very big hand. Oh my, all the dirty things that popped into his head. Jensen coughed as he felt Jared’s gaze on his lips. “I’d love to,” he said trying to remind himself that it would not be very nice to jump Jared in a public place. And indecent exposure would not look great on his permanent record. As if feeling forgotten, Hartley and Sadie jumped on Jared and Jensen laughed as Jared bent down and gave them some treats to ease their minds.
“They’re really beautiful dogs,” Jensen said as he caught Jared eye.

“Thank you but I wish you hadn’t said that because now they’ll love you forever.” Jared smiled and Jensen’s laughter filled the air. It was amazing how they’d just meet a few minutes ago but all he wanted to do was be near him, know everything about him. Jensen’s hand brushed against his and it felt like a current of electricity hit his body. He bit his lip as he looked over at Jensen. They stopped and just stood there looking at each other for a minute.
Jensen took this as an opportunity. “I was wondering...I know that we just met but maybe…we could go out for coffee or something?”
Jared smiled and unconsciously leaned into Jensen and whispered, “I’d love to” in his ear. As Jared slowly pulled back, Jensen couldn’t help himself and kissed him.
Time stopped. The world felt like it was spinning out of control as Jensen’s lips touched his. Jared’s hand wrapped around his neck and he returned the kiss. It was a touch of lips at first but then Jensen tilted his head and their tongues meet. They melted into the kiss as they tasted each other for the first time and were already hooked.
As if in sync, they pulled back as if realizing that they were still in a very public place. Jensen licked his bottom lip and smiled as he noticed the way Jared looked. Lips kissed swollen and a blush high on his cheeks. “I’m sorry,” Jensen said as he looked into Jared’s eyes.
“For what? I wanted to do that since the second I laid eyes on you.” Jared’s mind caught up with his mouth and his cheeks were scarlet. “So, how bout that coffee?” Jared smiled as Jensen looked at him.
“First, I have to go home and shower.” Jensen’s mind was filled with thoughts of Jared naked as water rolled off his tanned body. He shook his head to shake those thoughts away.
“Here’s my number.” Jensen grabbed a pen and took Jared’s hand and wrote it on his palm.
Jared smiled “As much as I love you holding my hand, maybe paper would be better.” He pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Jensen. Jensen laughed and wrote it down.
They just stood there and looked at one another. “I guess it’s a date then,” Jensen said as he bit his lip lightly.
“Guess so.” Jared’s hand touched Jensen’s cheek as he leaned in and kissed him. This time, it was just a gentle press of lips. “I don’t think I’ll get tired of doing that anytime soon.”
Jensen licked his lip and laughed. “Yeah.”

Jensen waved as he jogged towards his car, he was so nervous about going out with Jared. They had met a few minutes ago and he kissed him. It just felt so right that he didn’t even second guess the action. Now he had to take a shower and try to look his best for Jared. He got in the car and headed towards his apartment and couldn’t help but turn back to see if he could get another peek of Jared. As he turned, he just caught Jared as he walked to his car. Damn, that man didn’t have a bad angle.
Jared felt someone watching him and he turned and saw Jensen pulling out of the park. Who would have thought he would have met someone at the park? It was totally unexpected. He smiled as he thought of the kiss and what would come next. Jared was looking forward to getting to know him better. Inside and out, as he loaded Hartley and Sadie in the car he couldn’t help but think of questions to ask him. He was practically giddy as he made his way towards his apartment building.
A few minutes later, Jensen pulled into his apartment building, Winchester Towers. A very nice, affordable place to live. He grabbed his gym bag and headed towards the elevator. Just as the doors were closing he heard someone’s voice “Hold the Elevator” he pressed the open door button and could have sworn that the voice was Jared’s. He laughed at himself for being so ridiculous and made room for the guy coming in.
Jensen’s eyes widened as Jared stepped into the elevator.
Jared smiled awkwardly “You live here too?”
Jensen’s mind was still reeling as he thought about all the times he could have met Jared. They lived in the same building for god’s sakes. “Yeah.”
Jared bit his lip as he tried to think of something to say. “I guess….since we live in the same building; we could just meet in the lobby.”
Jensen smiled as Jared shyly looked at him. “Great.”
The elevator dinged on the 5th floor; “This is me” Jared smiled as he stepped out from the elevator. “Oh…what time should we meet?” Jared said as he was lead by his dogs towards home.
“I think 7 would be good, do you have somebody to take care of them?” He asked as he petted Hartley.
“Yeah, they have this doggy daycare in the building. I’m gonna drop them of after I get ready.” He blushed as Jensen’s eyes look at him appreciatively.
“Sounds like a plan. See you at 7.” Jensen watched as Jared made his way down the hall as the elevator doors closed. He still couldn’t believe that he had met someone that just happened to live in the same building and that he just met and kissed. It was all so weird but he couldn’t help being excited about what would come next.
