Hi guys! Finally, summer is here! I know it's been a while since I've posted here. It's been really busy lately. I've had a lot of EOCs (end of course exams) for school. But today was my last day and I'm ready to write! :D
So I started to write one fic a long time ago, but it's proven to be a little difficult for me to write. I'm still working on it and I hope for it to be up soon. But for now, I've had an idea for a school fic. I don't know why but I love those. This is my first attempt at a school fic so I hope it goes well. We'll see!
(By the way, italics are for thoughts.)
Title: Something Was Missing
Pairings: Ianthony. Duh. :P
Rating: I'd say... PG-13. There's some cussing and stuff.. But I suck at rating things.
Summary: Ian is pretty content with his high school life. He has alot of friends. But he's always felt like something was....missing..
Previous chapters: None!
Hey there. My name is Ian Hecox and I'm a senior in high school. I've always been a goofy guy. I love to laugh. I don't think I've ever gone more than five minutes without cracking a joke. So it's pretty easy for me to make friends. Besides that, there's really nothing special about me. I look pretty average. Bowl haircut, slightly muscular body from running track, light blue eyes.. It’s not like I’m ugly. It’s just…hard for me to find a girlfriend. I usually just get stuck in the friend zone. Which is ok, I guess. I like having friends that are girls. I’m just……lonely. I feel like something's missing....
“You coming Ian?”
I glanced over at my friend, Jeff and grinned.
“Yeah, just a sec.”
I finished putting my books in my locker and caught up to him. We were headed to science. The bell rang just as we walked in the door. Our 65 year old teacher, Mr. Guerin, gave us a stern look.
"Mr. Hecox, Mr. Sanders. Take your seats. I hope this won't happen again."
We both muttered a quiet "Yes Sir" and hurried to our desks. I sat down and pulled out my notebook. He began to talk.
"Today we will be learning more about biochemical compounds. Please turn to chapter 5 in your books."
The whole class groaned as we sluggishly opened our text books and turned to the right page. As he lectured us about sciencey stuff, I stared out the window. This is so unbelievably boring...
"Oh, alright then."
I snapped out of my daydream and looked to the front of the room. Some guy was standing next to Mr. Guerin, looking very uncomfortable.
"Everyone we have a new student joining us today. His name is Anthony."
The boy waved slightly at us, not really making eye contact with anyone.
"Anthony why don't you take a seat over there next to Mr. Hecox?"
He quickly walked over and sat down. As our teacher began to talk about the lesson again, I couldn't help but stare at the new guy. He was tall and lean, with dark tanned skin. His deep brown hair swooped to the side, covering a part of his forehead. His chocolate-brown eyes drooped shut and he put his head on the desk. I looked away, wondering what was going on in that silent head of his.
RIIING!
Finally, the bell rang for lunch. I slung my backpack over my shoulder and joined Jeff as he walked out the door. Glancing back, I noticed Anthony was gone. Did he already leave?... He must have really wanted out of there... Stretching, I turned my attention back to Jeff.
"The new guy is kinda weird.."
He chuckled.
"I know, right? What was up with him?"
We didn't say anything else about it and continued walking to lunch. When we entered the cafeteria, our group of friends were throwing food at each other.
"You better take that back!"
"Ha! No way!"
I watched David and Sam as they argued playfully back and forth. Laughing at them, I took my seat. Suddenly I got the weirdest feeling.. Like I was being watched. I turned around. It's him! Anthony! He sat with two other guys at the table behind ours. He was staring at me. I shuddered and turned back around. What the fuck?..
After school, I had track. I've always liked running. The wind whipping around your face, blowing your hair back, feeling as though you're flying, you're going so fast.. It relaxes me. I can just let go of everything and focus on the track in front of me. It's such a rush. I finished tying my shoe laces and jogged outside with the rest of the team. Coach Clark gave us twenty laps to practice our timing and let us run. I flew past all of my teammates, reaching the front of the group in no time. I was finished first so Coach let me leave early, patting me on the back and saying "Good job." After I showered and got dressed, I went outside and started walking home. Something stopped me though. I saw two guys sitting in the shade of a huge oak tree, holding hands. One of them was Anthony.
I gasped. He's...gay?.. Don't get me wrong. I'm not against gay people. But seeing.. him like that... I couldn't understand why I was so shocked. Or why I had an odd feeling in my stomach. I stared at them. He stared back. He looked angry. Oh shit. I turned around and started walking again, faster than before.
The next day in science when I sat down at my desk, a shadow fell over me. I glanced up. It was him.
"Tell him you don't feel well. Ask to go to the nurse."
It was the first time I had heard him speak. His voice was smooth and calm. But his arms were crossed, the muscles tense. I stared up at him, saying nothing. The bell rang and he went back to his seat. Mr. Guerin started talking.
"Alright, students. Today we have a test. Clear your desks."
I shakily raised my hand. I didn't know why I was doing it. Something about him intrigued me..
"Umm... Mr. Guerin?... I feel sick.. Can I visit the nurse...?"
"Sure."
I nodded and left the classroom. From the hall I heard,
"I'll help him in case he throws up on the way there."
I turned around as Anthony followed me into the hallway.
"Come."
He began walking, in the opposite direction of the nurse's office.
"Um...The nurse is..that way.."
He didn't say anything. I hurried after him, wondering where he was going. He went into the bathroom. I hesitated. Why would he bring me here?... I reluctantly followed him inside. He was pacing back and forth.
He looked pissed. He stopped and stared at me.
"You saw me. Yesterday."
I gulped.
"Yeah..."
He stepped closer, his eyes blazing.
"You will tell no one."
I nodded weakly. Oh god he's gonna punch me.
He grinned. "Good."
What the...
"I never did catch your name."
"Oh..Um.. It's Ian."
"Nice to meet you, Ian. I'm Anthony."
I smiled a little. "I know."
"I hope we can be friends, Ian. You seem cool."
I seem cool to him? Wow...
I smiled wider. "Sure. I'd like that."
We went back to class.
I'd like that...
Well what do you guys think? I'm definitely planning on this to be a long one. I already have most of part two planned. I hope you liked this!
