For my friends, the writers

Mar 03, 2007 10:08

The New York Times has an interesting article about unsigned writers who develop a following by turning their novels and short stories into podcasts. Now, the writers I know have great stories, wonderful voices and superb acting skills. They could really do something great. *nudge nudge*

The NYT article is behind the cut. )

I've thought about it. And, thanks to you, I am now thinking about it again.

All this podcasting is just more group-think: create exactly what you want, put it out there, let the audience decide what's good and what sucks.

I was of two minds when I read the article. First, it's a great idea (and you were one of the first, so more power to you). On the flip side, it's now in the New York Times, and we're going to see more clutter out there as more writers jump on the bandwagon. It will be harder to sort out the cream from, well, the crap.

Congrats on your NYT mention! I'm sure you got a nice boost in podcast downloads, to put it mildly.
