I come back from classes, and you've formed a bandwagon without me <\3 Well, I'm late, but there's still time for me to be a meme whore, so line right up to have Hijikata insult assess your characters!
Zou...vaguely remembers Kiros. He came off to Zou as a bit naive, but intelligent; Zou wonders a little just what the deal was with him and 'Rou. Kiros isn't particularly on Zou's radar, though...just sort of an acquaintance.
Hijikata doesn't really know Toshirou that well. Overall, he strikes him as competent and together, but Hijikata can be pretty insightful. He's well aware of the inexperience Hitsugaya has, the need he has to compensate for it, and the recklessness that a need to prove oneself can inspire. He is not impressed with Hitsuaya, Heihachi, and Tira for leaving everyone with rank out of the loop on their little water errand. On the other hand, he recognizes that Hitsu got the job done...it just might be a while before he trusts him, and Hitsu's going to have to damned well prove his maturity before he does.
Really, though, just getting Hijikata to recognize that he has capability and potential is more than a lot of people get. Zou might think he needs the spirit of youth smacked out of him before it gets anybody killed, but he does think better of him than he does about a lot of people.
Hijikata....well, in all honesty, he's pretty conflicted about Gorobei. Doesn't know entirely what to think of him, which is pretty rare, as he tends to form strong impressions and stick to them
