Oh, man, I've always said this. This is something my Dad taught me a long time ago, when fucking REAGAN was President, except according to him the target was different. My dad told me, long long ago, that we were going to go to war with Saudi Arabia -- not because of oil, necessarily, but because of population. Keep in mind, this was when Russia was the big scary monsters in the U.S., so me hearing that Saudi Arabia was the REAL enemy was kind of intriguing. *nods* the purpose of a government SHOULD be enlightened self-interest - in that that should be ensuring the long term happiness of its constiency, and by extension, that of the world

alas, the only way to become a government leader appeasr to be by becoming a bigger self-serving son-of-a-bitch then everybody else.
