I Was Never Here

So the "less than one inch accumulation" of snow turned into...more than that. However, I am ignoring that I should probably shovel the walk, call back the nice lady who wanted to bring me a welcome package from the co-op, make something that resembles real food (I have eaten Sunchips today), or even get out of bed. I am warm in my pile of blankets and sweatclothes, my cat is under the covers with me, and there is Criminal Minds glee on the internet.

microgirl8225 has posted I Love You, New York which is an adorable first-time fic where Rossi and Prentiss get sent to NYC to represent the FBI to Columbia University. It has misunderstandings and pretend dating and Frank Sinatra songs, and delicious milkshakes. Win!

amichevole has posted Dominate which is a sexy little piece that really has the intimacy of an established relationship, and the bonus of Emily in a corset. Despite the title, the BDSM aspect is really more fantasy and suggestion than actually played out, so if you're inclined to shy away for that reason, there's no need. (This one's also Rossi/Prentiss. What? I read other stuff. Some days.)

I've also been lucky in hitting up fabulous team vids today. I am not so lucky in my attempts to be articulate about them, so forgive me.

stillthestars team vid to Lovers in Japan is really technically amazing and bursting at the seams with team greatness. And now includes a sendspace link for downloads.

This vid to the Fray's "I Found You" has um, YouTube resolution, but the vidder is really skilled, the scenes are fit well to the song, and well, it is my happy team place, even though these people spend a lot of time in the hospital, OMG. Spoils through 5x11 - Retaliation, I think.

This one I found when I was looking for the previous one to rewatch, and is set to The Fray's "How to Save a Life". And it was teamy and cut well and I was doing great until it turned into a vid about losing Elle and Gideon and [spoiler for season 5 redacted] complete with black and white flashbacks to happier times. So yeah. It's awesome but it'll break your heart.

This was a FestVid, so I don't know who did it, but...it's incredible. The music is called "Scarred" by someone I've never heard of named Johnette Napolitano and it's, well, about the victims. Especially the female victims. When I was showing wojelah the first episode, and she kept asking me how it was going to end, I said that in CM, if they show the woman fighting back, there's a good chance she'll survive. It's not a given, and they've violated that maxim enough that I don't trust it (In Name and Blood, I hate you) but it's true more often than it isn't. Unfortunately, I feel like this vid is...it would probably be shortchanging the term "triggery" to say it's triggery if you have an XX chromosome, but it's a wretched gut squeeze at the least. So if you watch, watch with the tagline in mind: "being a victim does not mean you are defeated."

Never Be

And! Since we all need something pretty now, four screencaps of Joe Mantegna from House of Games, which I will be happy to discuss at length in a separate post on request, because I realized since watching it that almost every problem I had with it ended up being mitigated by the denouement. Okay, not Lindsey Crouse's wardrobe. Okay, even that a tiny bit.
