Okay, even though I haven't gotten through the comments from last week, (I had two papers, a ficathon story, and a Contracts exam - WHICH I ROCKED SO HARD, IT'S STILL SEEING DOUBLE - so it's been a week), starting on episodes 13 here. This is the one SG-1 episode I did see earlier.

SG-1 10x13: The Road Not Taken )

Oooh. Kolya's looking a little paunchy there. I take back my desire to see Robert Davi and Robert Patrick throw down, now. At least not shirtless. Shut up, I'm shallow.

Tell me you don't want to see it, too. ;)

The moment Rodney appeared in glasses is the moment I finally fell in love with him.

I suppose of all the kinks to have, men in glasses is quite tame. Though were JFlan or one of his characters to appear in glasses, I think my girlparts would SPLODE.

The best thing about that kink is that it's so easily satisfied. ;) Have you read Opthalmology"> by kormantic? It is John/Rodney, in which John has the same kink. ;)

John and his sunglasses of x-treme hawtness are a good consolation prize, though.

Ooh, no I haven't. Thanks for the rec.

Perhaps one day I'll learn to find aviator sunglasses attractive. Now they're a step up from BCGs, but only just.

Also, I am totally buying Landry as evil and always have. Yes. Thank you.

Hee! Oh, man, I totally loved Landry more as the evil Dictator-President than I ever did as the head of the SGC. sniff I luvs and misses General Hammond.

However. Wire-rimmed glasses = hot like BURNING

Oh, yeah. I'm hoping someone puts up screencaps soon, because I needs me an icon of dot.com Rodney. :D

As for SGA, I just...could not watch Irresponsible again. I, um, saw it when it aired in Canada, and it just pissed me off so much that they had the final John/Kolya show-down in this piece of crap episode. Please god, let Lucius never darken our Stargate again. In fact, if it hadn't been for Lucius, I might have liked this episode, but... nope, can't stand the twit.

Man, Hammond was THE MAN. I loved him SO MUCH. And ever since Cam walked in and Landry said, "So what's wrong with you?" I have disliked him. Not wholly, not with any vitriol, just with the knowledge that I would NEVER WANT TO WORK FOR HIM. Yeesh.

I know there were some screencaps a while back when the episode aired in the UK. If nothing pops up in the next few days, maybe a perusal of the newsletter archives will turn something up.

It was mostly the Kolya thing that got me about this episode but I pretty much watch for the characters and they just let his fall into mustache-twirling cartoon villain-dom. Alas.

Dear Stargate writers: Please give up on politics. Your parallels are not subtle. Thank you. No love, Smitty.

Oh god, yes. This episode improved liek woah when I fast-forwarded through Sam's on camera "interview" and her subsequent discussion with Rodney on the realities of censorship in this 'verse.

Also, I felt so vindicated that Landry was evil. *shudders*

My favorite part isn't Sam's face when she finds out she's married to Rodney. It's the team spending TWO WEEKS talking to an empty room. And Vala hugging Sam.

The team talking to an empty room was so damn funny. And yet? IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE! GIVEN THEIR HISTORY! Which probably makes it even funnier. And Vala hugging Sam made me gurgle, because it was lovely and in character for Vala, and Sam looked kind of surprised, but then gratified, and I can imagine the two of them sexxin' each other up at some point in the future without massive cognitive dissonance, yay.

I think I like these episodes much more than say, the rest of fandom. Still. I can focus on the stuff I ( ... )

I'm about to sign off for the night myself. *yawns*

Call me tomorrow afternoon? Or I'll call you - either way, we can decide then.

Good luck studying :)

Someone who's a better writer than I am needs to write Jack coming in and taking a shift. Not necessarily shippy, but with or without romance, they HAVE been a big part of each other's lives for a decade, so, something, y'know?
