Merghy~ I totally missed this night's episode. Must stream it tomorrow.
I'm... not sure what I think of Waverly. Sometimes I think she's a strong woman who knows what she wants and sometimes I think she's entirely too judgmental. But I did not see that coming. (And I don't think I'm the one with that theory.)
And more Tim! And Tyra! I loved them last episode when Tim was about the only person to talk to Matt straight and honest about sex while Tyra was doing the same thing with Julie.
o_O And what's this about you not seeing the first three episodes?
The Waverly thing makes me want to go back and watch all the episodes with her.
Tim and Tyra kind of make me think they could grow up to be Coach and Mrs. Coach someday, but I also kind of feel like they're done with hurting each other. For a while at least. Maybe they can get back together when they've both matured and healed a little and can forgive the other.
I started watching with episode 4 and never went back to watch the first three. And during spring break, I can do that, now. :)
I'm not sure we've really seen a different Waverly so far. She's always been the headstrong opinionated type person unless it explains why she went from, "Ugh. Smash. Football." to all the cute and coy smiles. We'll probably see more of this as their relationship goes on, I bet.
I... I really like Tim and Tyra. I mean, I want Tim to grow up and do something productive with his life and I want Tyra to get out of that town and do something in the big city but if they both end up staying there until the day they die, with Tim drinking beer and doing nothing, and Tyra just staying in place then I totally want them to hook up. I swear, they're both my little guilty pleasure white trash couple.
Oooh~ You'll have to tell me what you think of the pilot even though you know everything that's coming it still hits hard.
Gah! I had to pick my brother up from the airport last night and missed all my shows. Blah.
You definitely need to watch the pilot episode of FNL. The first five minutes are just completely made of awesome. It starts off with Explosions in the Sky playing "Remember Me As a Time of Day," awesome chill song, and then it gradually introduces everyone and then you get this incredible scene with crazy guitars and chanting and angsty football practice. Trust me. Awesome cinematography. Awesome.
There was just something about his careful distance and honest appreciation and THE ACCENT that keeled me ded. I was all "he loves his daddy and he respects women in an old-fashoned chivalric way yet has no problem with them being strong cops and JJ, you should keep his number and put it on speed-dial NOW".
I know! I think it's the drawl. I knew a guy from South Carolina who could be a complete jerk but got away witih so much just because of the accent. Oh, and also that he was so matter-of-fact about, "This is just how I am," that was charming as well.
Yeah, I can't help but think the TimRiggins (which I will now call him forever and ever) would be much more beneficial for Tim that it would be for Bo's mother.
See, I kind of feel like the Waverly thing has been there since the very first episode she was in, when she couldn't actually tell Smash anything about that missionary trip she'd supposed gone on. That it was bipolar thing (and probably a stay at a recovery center judging from the need to explain a time away) seems as likely to me as anything else.
The episode description on Yahoo said something about Lyla trying to hold the family together when her dad got kicked out, but that only lasted until the credits and then she took off and I was all, "hey...what about...never mind." So yeah, I don't know. Lyla's never been the textbook definition of 'tough' but she's got some quiet determination. I guess she just ran out of it.
