This morning as we were brushing our teeth, D noted her toothpaste was over. So, she reminded me to call the postman and to tell him to bring some more (we do most of our shopping via Prime!)! I shared with her that the postman will no longer be bringing us stuff, we will need to go to the store. Goodbye Amazon Prime and hello Target, here we come

Just to try out if financially it makes any difference and we will be gone for a couple of months and so likely any savings in amazon purchase will go in Prime fees! Oh yes, we are penny pinching, but every bit helps, I guess. We saw a big chunk go to our car last year and this year for college savings. We have moments of panic and this is what happens! ;)

And N misses going shopping! So, this way he can do the non-perishable shopping once a month or something.

Did you ever watch any videos with Amazon Prime? I had considered signing up for that reason alone, but then they announced the price increase. I was just wondering if it was worth it. I don't shop on Amazon to the point that I need 2-day shipping.

See that's the thing, I didn't really take advantage of the streaming. Don't really like watching on my computer. I took advantage of the lending library for a while (with my Kindle). But with a kid who wants to try everything I have, I just haven't bothered. We get free cable (included in rent) and a library across that gives us free movies and series. So, never found the need for the streaming. It might be useful when we buy a house and choose not thane cable and look for nettles or other options.

I like that I don't have to have a minimum amount to purchase and the convenience of not having to go to the store! Last year, I had cancelled after the trial period. 5 day delivery seemed so horrible! lol.. and apparently I hear that it's taking some longer too to get stuff! Then I'd rather just go to the store.

Hi Smitha! Not sure if you remember me, but I was your LJ friend a long time back (can't remember my username now...). We used to follow each other's LJs for quite awhile. I believe I found you through thecatsmeow's LJ. I think I was writing in my LJ during my time in either Boston or NY and maybe even in Singapore.
