The Potato (Day) of Tyranny....

Apr 08, 2009 16:16

I don't understand how people that far removed from reality actually get elected. Re-education camps? Seriously? It boggles my mind. And where do people who supported things like warrantless wiretapping on US citizens, Gitmo, & the Patriot Act get off ranting about the destruction of civil liberties?

Ok, I have to say I love "How you like them apples Jew-boy!"

Does it make me a bad person that I think of Easter has Zombie-Jesus day?

Ummm... With the exception of Guantanamo, Obama has publicly stated that (and now followed through with his statements) that he supports these illegal actions, and even increasing them. Not to mention his mandatory "civil service" for people between 18-25, and the administration's most recent attempt to basically outlaw small farms and gardens (thanks to his friends from Monsanto). At least his weapons ban failed, since even the majority of the Democrats voting for it recognized that the similar ban in the '90s only increased gun crime.

The fact that Fox News reacts this way is, of course, insane. They're just as fascist, just in a slightly different way.

...so actually, their response is expected. Fascists hate competition for tyranny.

Please show me a creditable source where Obama has claimed to be in favor of illegal wiretapping, as everything I've seen from him has said otherwise. However, he is blocking legal challenges to the previous administration to determine just how much criminal activity of that nature was going on- something I disagree with ( ... )

Public school failed you, so it succeeded:

It doesn't matter if someone was democratically elected whether or not they're fascist, and I wonder at the naivety of anyone who believes there is democratic voting in this country, especially considering the near complete hegemony on discourse corporate media has. FOX and KOS and all those other retarded conservative media outlets only slightly different in content from the retarded liberal media outlets. FOX is just more ridiculous. They are all covering the same stuff with the same presumptions; there is no discourse, only the appearance of it.

And I guess you don't actually read my journal or anything, because I've given dozens of examples of Obama specifically saying he'd push for more domestic surveillance. In one case, he even covered up a particularly damning part of his speech, but luckily people caught it on tape.

First off, I mostly went to Catholic schools, which are private, although my high school was public. Still, I learned about fascists, dictators, tyrants & such in grade school initially. I'm old enough that Communism was still the Great Evil we learned to fear from birth ( ... )
