Yes, another exciting mod post!

Due to a minor kerfuffle-type thing elsewhere, I thought I'd reiterate here that all adult material needs to go behind an LJ-cut (as all fic should be anyway),any smutty manips or fanart should be labelled NSFW - Not Safe For Work - and all fic should be labelled appropriately. If you don't know what fic ratings mean - since there was all-change a few years ago when fanfiction.net was told they couldn't use the G-NC-17 system any more - here's a quick guide to the most used rating system and the equivalent ff.net one:

G or K - suitable for all. No sex or violence.
PG or K+ - parental guidance recommended, may not be suitable for very young children
PG-13 or T - may not be suitable for under 13s, some sexual content, swearing or violence
R or T+ - teens and older; may have non-explicit sex, hard swearing, violence
NC-17 or M - explicit sex, though fics may be rated this way for non-con (non-consensual sex/rape), kink, incest, graphic violence, etc

Then, of course, there are fandoms with their own ratings systems. Life on Mars fandom has some sort of colour system, though I've never been able to work out what 'Green Cortina' means. I suppose we could do the same if we wanted to - maybe giving a fic a rating between one and five throbbing timecocks - but it'd take a more organised woman than I to implement such a thing.

Note that these aren't hard and fast rules. Everybody uses their own judgement when rating fic - one person's PG-13 is another's G. At the end of the day, anyone concerned about their kids stumbling on porny Doctor Who fic online... well, aside from labelling what stuff's adult, there's not much more we can do.

Arguably we could try and avoid saying 'timecock' in un-LJ-cut posts. Twice. But, honestly, we're not going to.

Enough of this, anyone up for a Ten/Martha porn battle?
