Oh I know alright. Jenka brought her in a few days ago, out cold and bleeding. Apparently, they were having 'knife practice' and Komachi wound up stabbed and with a sore throat. I think Jenka might have choked her--though I don't know if it was on purpose or accidental.

That's...you don't do that kind of thing for practice. Miss Penelo, you should have said something.

I did. Jenka wouldn't listen. She thought all this was normal! And poor Komachi, I think she idolizes Jenka.

I mean something to us. Gorobei's been looking out for Komachi, and I don't think he'll be happy about this. There's nothing wrong in Komachi learning to defend herself but you don't need to stab anyone in the process to do it.

Jenka is...well, I thought she was a nice person, but Komachi's not as sturdy as a Jaeger. I'll make sure she knows that.

I didn't see her out there... to be honest, I was having a hard time keeping upright in that storm... I don't know how she would have managed to not get blown overboard if she had gone out there.

I...didn't even think of that. Everyone was so busy, but I'd have thought she'd have the sense not to go out there.

Well it depends. Most samurai start out around her age, or even a little younger, but like with your training its best to start beginners out on wooden weapons. The idea is not to get hurt, but I think Jenka took things a little too seriously.

Still, it'd be nice for her to have a bit more fun. There's aren't exactly any other kids her age on the ship for her to play with.

Well...So long as she's okay and wasn't hurt too badly, but from what Penelo told me it sounds like Jenka took things a little far. Komachi's a beginner, and it's not always a good idea just to jump straight in the deep end when you're first learning.

I get the feeling the Captian wasn't looking too closely at the paperwork when she signed it. Even she probably think anyone would make a mistake like that and still put it on her desk.
