It wasn't easy remembering how to make it, let me tell you. I definitely wouldn't choose it over rice in most cases but, hey, it worked last time. Maybe it'll help.

Actually I learned it from Kambei, but I'm sure most Samurai have simmilar traditions. This one's supposed to be nourishment for the spirit before a difficult battle. Seems like it'd be a good idea.

I think it's called 'Firefly Gruel' because the little pieces of millet floating in the water kind of look like fireflies.
