Get ANGRY!

Aug 13, 2008 23:55

By now, we have all read about the Republican owner of Manhunt supporting John McCain, thanks to our friends JoeMyGod (whose blog you really should be reading if you aren't already) and Towleroad.

Because I’m a cynical New Yorker at heart, I'm guessing about 80% of you probably scanned the items lackadaisically and turned your attentions back to ( Read more... )

While I don't disagree with what your saying, it kinda reads like your shitting on the folks you are hoping to educate and ask that they stand up and express themselves by deleting their Manhunt profiles.

scanned the items lackadaisically and turned your attentions back to your Wii or figuring out your gym schedule for the next week or deciding on the setup for your next self-photo portrait

snap out of your world of iPhones and reality television

Preaching via insult often doesn't do much for lots of folks.
But then again, its just how I felt while reading your post. I'll go back to my iPhone, reality tv and sewing machine.

My point was not to insult; my point with those comments is that WAY too many people in our community are focused on what's not important while ignoring what is. I know too many gay boys who know all about American Idol but couldn't tell me the first thing about the situation between Russia and Georgia and the role the U.S. is playing in it. American Idol=not important; Potential war with Russia=EXTREMELY important.

And if you personally felt insulted by reading my post, I apologize, but perhaps it hit too close to home...?

Well those gay boys aren't the ones sitting here reading your journal, folks you know and know you are. So you're speaking to them, not the gay boys on the street.

And as far as hitting close to home... when I get around to having a sex life again (cause 7 months of opiate based pain meds have an impact on your bits) and it if it ever involves Manhunt, I'll let you know.

Greg, the boys reading my journal who are of the same mindset and level of political and social awareness as me should understand that I am preaching to the choir. My use of the image of the Wii- or gym-obsessed fag was just an illustration of the type who may be focused on all the wrong things and not paying any attention to what's really important.

And honestly, if you dont like my delivery, fucking defriend me. Tough love is hard to swallow, i know.

You already know how I feel - I totally agree!

There truly is no time like the present to snap out of all the distractions placed in front of us (iPhone, Manhunt, Wii, etc) and focus on the real issues.

You better have room on that soapbox of yours for more than one!!

Hopefully your post will cause at least one, and maybe more than one to drop Manhunt. I wonder how many account cancellations it will take for Jonathan Crutchley to take notice of the impact of his political actions.

Now on to find an online service that promotes causes I like...

I went to delete my manhunt account, but then found I never had one, LOL.

When referring to the Concerned Women For America, please show the respect they deserve and use the proper acronym: Cow Foram.

Moo.
