So I guess the idea is to keep cats out of the bedroom? 'Cause our solutions was to put the cat door in, when Nali started the 4am wake-ups. And yes, unfortunately, if you keep opening the door then he'll keep on doing it. But if you don't you can't sleep. Cat-children can be a pain in the ass. Ours is insisting on sleeping pressed against me these days. Argh.
Do you have a legit cost door on your bedroom door? The trick is we've been denying him for two years and so far it doesn't seem to have deterred him at all.

It works great, except on the occasions when Nali is being a particular shithead and sits there batting the door over and over again. We can lock it if we have to (ie the ferret is out and we don't want him in the bedroom) and you can get magnet controlled ones which only let who you want go through.
Uhh, yes, "cat door". Autocorrect and I are still getting used to one another. Cell number is still the same. I think a cat door is awesome, but unfortunately suspect he would use said door to come in, crawl under the bed, and claw incessantly at the box spring. Or meow at the window.
