Firstly, hope you feel better--here is Stephen-kissing-bear icon for that. It's perfectly normal to torture the characters you love when you're feeling down, I have found. ;D

And now to business: I <3 you. I am having to search in other people comments for inspiration to express how much. You manage somehow to not forget that they're people who use humor even as they deal with inherent sadness. They're round and amusing and believable.

Our own personal, cohabitated post-divorce purgatory. <-- OH SAD.

Them talking about college (and pot, teehee) is great. Both so self-deprecating about their younger selves! So how they are. And the ending was sweet and funny and sad. I think I keep using those exact words. GAH. But I loved it. :D

The bear-hugging is indeed making me feel better! Man, to be the bear in that hug. I tend to have mildly sadistic tendencies towards characters - especially original ones. If they're real people I end up feeling bad but when I've created them... I am overly abusive.

I <3 YOU TOO! I think the fact that I use humor as a defense mechanism helps me to write them doing the same. Deflecting a problem with a joke = how I function on a day-to-day basis. I'm glad they come across as round characters since that's something I usually obsess in trying to accomplish.

I love the idea of their situation being purgatory. I have a hard-on for religious allegories.

Haha, no, I like that you use those words to describe it! Especially since that's what I was trying to get across. Basically, I love your review. It's not just "OMG YAY" but actually has substance to it, and for that I thank you :-)

Aw, thanks for liking it!

For some reason I see baked beans as the quintessential food of depression. Because, really, what's sadder than bean goop? Not much. I know depression affects my eating habits a lot so I thought it only makes sense.

Thanks for reading!!

Coming back from vacation to all these excellent fics makes me really happy. Especially since you're one of the best writers I've found in a while and yeahh. =]

I especially loved Stephen being shy about his singing and playing guitar. It reminded me of...well, the way one of my friends told me I am. haha. Which is odd, but it kind of made it more real to me in a way.
