Jon, oddly enough, has a very similar speech pattern to myself. Hence him being easy for me to write in first person. Stephen, on the other hand, is nearly impossible for me.

I'm trying to keep it at a pace that feels realistic, given the depressing nature of their situation.

Haha, I think Jon really knows what too. But therein lies the glory of repression. I myself am well-versed in it so I enjoy making my characters be the same way.
