Well, glad you liked it. As you know, there were many times when I thought we weren't going to get to this final chapter, but encouragement like yours helped us all get here, so thanks for that.
As for the shirts...lol...I was thinking of you when I wrote that bit. I could just picture my sweet Scottish sister tearing up as soon as the shirts came out of the bag. I'm glad I handled those relics properly.
It was a bit of a toss-up for me, whether I was going to give earlier indications of what Ennis had in his pocket all these years. You know, just little glimpses. In the end, I thought the surprise would be more fitting, more Ennis-like, to not give anything away until it really mattered.
I wrote the you-love-me bit long ago, and that was my promise to myself that I would get them here. So glad this day has come and you were along for the ride. xx Em

I'm glad this story has come to mean something to you. It was sometimes difficult, knowing how much of my heart showed up in these pages, but it made me feel better knowing someone like you would appreciate what I'd given and handle it with care. I treasure coming to know you through this story. Much love -- Em

I LOVED this,
“You love me.” .... and ... “And you love me.”

I'm RUNNING to the epilogue!

Yes, that's the whole point of why we read fanfiction, isn't it? To hear words of love from these two, because we never got the words in the movie or the story. To this day, after reading countless stories and writing this one, that's a wound that is slow to heal. Although writing this scene certainly helped. See you at the epilogue! xx Em
