Wow. Some chapter. I've been reading a lot of military-based fiction lately (snerk) and instantly identified with Nick's dream-state and not knowing where he really was. You know, it really pisses me off that these poor boys, and they really were nothing more than boys, were brave enough to fight for our freedom in a land where even the very air was foreign to them, and they had to come home and face even more demons. Add to that Nick's having to hide his true self from the world and it's no wonder the man isn't going postal 24/7 and attacking shadows he probably sees lurking in every corner. *sigh* I think I almost might love Nick a little bit more than Ennis in this chapter.
