So first just a shoutout to the fabulous fandom, which manages to surprise me on a daily basis with incredible fic and videos.  And incredibly funny and astute commenters, of course. *hugs*

That was the nice part of this post - lol.

At any rate, just a small rant about the students of today (excepting Holey, who is obviously an academic star).  In ( Read more... )

Ah, yes. Acid as a battle field drug. WTF were they thinking?
Reminds me of 'Jacob's Ladder', which I never want to see again. Ever ...

[The idea of eating anything at all when I was tripping always used to just turn my stomach. But hotdogs? Just NO *shudder*].

I noticed from the comments that you're reading danger_mouse 's TwiSkins fic. Isn't is amazing? I love it so much! And Chapter 8! God. My comment on the 1st part of that chapter amounted to exactly 3 words, those words being "Oh Jesus. Hot". I think it may have rendered me somewhat speechless ;D

Seriously! Food was like "what, why would anyone want that?" I did used to have a cocktail or two but they had NO effect whatsoever. Hallucinogens trump alcohol. I particularly like that the hot dog has one of those troll dolls on it!! Love the vampire skins - SO much. I'm untouched by Twilight, thank god, so don't have to think of all those crazed tweens going batty about the Mormon vampire love story. "Oh Jesus. Hot." sums it up, doesn't it. I hope she does a sequel or keeps going with it. I can't quit that fic!

A friend of mine lent me a downloaded version of Twilight on DVD, because I was curious, but not curious enough to pay money for it. I sat down to watch utterly determined to hate it, and actually quite liked it. It's sort of pretty and I am rather a sucker for romance, but mostly I liked it for the base ball scene, which rather rocks (and really WTF self, I don't even like sport!) and for Alice, who's all sorts of cute. Mostly it's just harmless fluff.
I read the first book, again largely out of curiosity, and it was, well, fine, I suppose. Not well written, and Meyer really has no concept of narrative drive or tension or anything really, and Edward is, in every way just UGH (just to make it clear that's UGH in a BAD way - creepy, stalkerish, controlling. Just horrible), but I actually sort of liked Bella. But as I was mainly reading it for Alice, and she was barely there, it was just sort ofwhatever really (fembuck's The Edge was way more enjoyable because, well, Alice/Bella is cute, funny and hot, whereas Edward/Bella is just WRONG).

You've hit on the ONE sport that I like as I'm a rabid Red Sox fan. AND it's baseball - one word - you English ninny! P.s. Don't ask me a thing about cricket. I remember being in England when I was 9 and you guys had like two channels - one showing cricket and the other showing horses jumping over things. I was fascinated by the cricket but COULD NOT figure out what was going on. So I left to feed the birds in the park like an old lady. I'm an American ninny.

So movie yes, book no? I may need a few cocktails before the film...
