Mac was walking around when he heard a splash. The sound was loud enough to make Mac run toward the sound. Near the springs. Uh-oh, Max warned him about those. This was not good. He couldn't see who was around right away. So his initial reaction was to yell out.

"Hello?? Anyone there??"

N recognized that voice. He knew that voice. Normally, he would keep calm and try to locate him, but in this state, there was only so much he could do.

So he screamed.

"Mac! Help!"

A kid? That sounded like a kid! A kid that knew him obviously because he screamed his name. The kid was in trouble! Mac had to do something!

"I'm comin'!! Where are ya!?"

He just started to dash in any direction he heard the voice from.

N stood up and waved. Zorua knew it had to help. It knew. However, its moveset also degraded along with its age.

It raised its head and let out a Roar.

He needed help. N knew he needed help.

He didn't think. He was already cursed, so maybe he wouldn't get cursed again. He reached his hands in and grabbed what felt like his friend's hand.

He pulled. Please be okay, please be okay.

Oh a hand grabbed N's. It was...noticably...smaller. Just then, a tiny kid emerged from the pool with drenched clothes.

Well, at least Mac was okay, but what happened was just what N expected. What a shame. Normally, N would be a little upset and worried, but N as a little boy is quite a bit more sensitive.

Thus, he began to whine.

"Maaaa-aaaaaac! Noooooooooo!"

Mac stood there with his soaked clothes, staring at N. He was now even shorter than him. Uh. He looked at his hands. Uhhhh. Mac was...a teeny tony kid.

Normal Mac would be upset and freaked out. Littler Mac just sorta...started to cry.

"N! N!! I-I'm...I'M SO SORRYYY!! NOW I'M A LIL' KID TOO AFTER I SAID I WAS GONNA HELP BUT NOW I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND..."

Cry.

"Another crying child?" Mei Ling sounded surprised. She heard a splash somewhere in the distance and rushed to where she thought the sound was coming from. Then she heard what sounded like somenoe crying.

It was the work of a few minutes for her to scramble across. Then, there was another one of them. This one had a Pokemon though, who looked similarly tiny.

"Did you fall into the spring?" she said quietly.

Zorua perked up cheerfully, tongue lolling out and tail swishing behind it. N, however, was more wary than his companion and kept stiff at the sound of the female's voice.

It was a woman. He could have sworn he'd seen her wandering the school before, perhaps. Who was she? He couldn't remember.

"Um... hi, lady?"

Mei Ling smiled gently. She had many experiences dealing with younger kids so she knew how they would behave... sorta. But then this was probably a student from school so lord knows what would happen.

"My name's Mei Ling. Did you fall into the water?"

Oh, did she know about the curse in the water? This woman, Mei Ling, must know! Mei Ling... that name seemed familiar. She was probably from the school after all. Yes, that was probably the safest assumption.

N nodded and pointed energetically to the springs. "Yeah! I fell in, and then... then I got littler and more tinier!" Oh, kids. They say the darndest things. "Never ever go into the water! It's really bad."

It had been a long day, and Cyrus was ready to put it behind him. He headed to get a drink--the pineapple juice was something he had no issue describing as acceptable--and to sum up what he had discovered of others that day.

But crossing through the lobby put him in sight of a familiar green-haired child. Instantly he knew he wasn't the only one to fall under that curse.

N couldn't be away from his vacation destination. He was still curious what the culture of this place was, what there was to see, what there was to discover... and yet he needed to find the cure. The cure for this ridiculous, age-receding curse. Why did it even happen in the first place? Was it something in the water? Who even knows.

Oh, but hey, there was that boy from before! Helio, wasn't it? Yeah, that was it. Helio.

"Mr. Helio! Hiiii!"

Ah yes, he suspected as much. "N, right?" he asked. "You got cursed too?" It was general enough that N shouldn't suspect anything--after all, there had been many curses going around.

"Yeah!" N's smile immediately plunged into a frown as he recalled the incident. "I fell into a puddle of water and I got all... teenier! Like... woooooosh!" He made a gesture with his fingers far apart, but slowly coming together. Kind of trying to indicate his 'teenier' transformation there.

"It happened to you, too? The water?"

Another walk on the beach for Riley with Lucario. Why? Because he felt like it. He felt good about himself, for once. I guess finding someone that you like does that to you.

Which is why when Riley saw a figure with green hair, he smiled and waved.

"N!" he called out. "Over here."

Riley... recognized him?

N spun around and looked to him, and hey, he knew it. Riley RECOGNIZED him. That was so amazing. People still knew who he was in this child's state!

He waved cheerfully with Zorua also following suit, tail a-waggin'. "Riley! Hiiiiii!"

Riley stopped and stared. He looked at Lucario, the shock in his eyes very apparent. Lucario, without flinching just looked at his trainer, then kiddy N. Yes, the yare the same person.

Without a moment's hesitation, he ran over to where N was with Lucario following suit. Yes, it was N. But he was... smaller? Childlike?

"N?" began Riley cautiously as he went on one knee to peer at him in the eye. "What happened to you?"

N paused and thought for a second before looking in some random direction, perhaps where the springs are.

"I fell into the water! Zoroark, too. Then we just kind of shrunk and stuff. I dunno why."

He frowned and shrugged.

"Just don't fall in the water, Riley, because... it's really weird!"
