Mac was walking around when he heard a splash. The sound was loud enough to make Mac run toward the sound. Near the springs. Uh-oh, Max warned him about those. This was not good. He couldn't see who was around right away. So his initial reaction was to yell out.

"Hello?? Anyone there??"

N recognized that voice. He knew that voice. Normally, he would keep calm and try to locate him, but in this state, there was only so much he could do.

So he screamed.

"Mac! Help!"

A kid? That sounded like a kid! A kid that knew him obviously because he screamed his name. The kid was in trouble! Mac had to do something!

"I'm comin'!! Where are ya!?"

He just started to dash in any direction he heard the voice from.

"I'm heeeeeere! I'm over here!"

N stood up and waved. Zorua knew it had to help. It knew. However, its moveset also degraded along with its age.

It raised its head and let out a Roar.

Okay there was the kid! Mac ran over to where he heard the screaming and now the...roar? OH NO WAS THE KID BEING ATTACKED??

Mac barreled his way to where he heard this and found the little Zorua and little N. He made a sharp halt and stared at the scene. The Zorua didn't look like he was attacking him and the kid looked...familiar. Then he saw the spring. This didn't bode well at all. He looked at the kid again and Zorua. The two were soaked. Long green hair. That cube. Clothes.

Oh.

Oh no.

Mac sunk down to his knees to their level. Face in complete shock which then turned to concern and shock at the same time.

"...N?

The poor, soaked boy just sat and twiddled his thumbs whilst Zorua wagged his tail with glee and relief. Little N could only produce a soft whimper at first, but straight after, he finally spoke with a nod.

"Um... y-yeah. Hiya, Mac."

Zorua bounced over to the boxer and attempted to hop up to his face to give doggy lickings.

Ooooh noooo. Mac looked really sad for the tiny N. He sat in a squat so Zorua could get up on his lap should he want to. As Mac had an idea who Zorua really was, it was kinda nice to see him in a relieved mood. Mac actually went to scratch Zorua behind his ears.

"...Aw N..." Mac said with a sorry look. N looked so tiny and sad. Do. Do you want a hug, N?

"I heard the springs were bad..."

N hung his head and kicked at the ground gently and idly. His face looked considerably, noticeably downcast.

"Um... yeah. I mean, do they do this kind of stuff to everyone? Did someone else go more tiny?"

Zorua loved the ear scritches, by the way. SO MUCH LICKING.

Mac wasn't happy this had happened at all. But the face little N was making kind of broke his heart a little. But he remembered this was the twenty-something man he considered a good friend so he'll treat him just the exact same. It was still N, just in a tiny body. So he's going to be honest but optimistic.

"Well another friend of mine turned into a Venusaur. So I sure don't think they have the same stuff for every one of 'em."

After giving a few more scratches to Zorua (the cutie pie awww), Mac got up and went to the spring behind him. "But there's gotta be a way to switch this around...Is this the one you guys fell in?"

He leaned over to look at it...it looked like a normal spring, how weird. How many of these things are on the island?

He was lost in thought though, he didn't notice the muddy ledge off the side of the spring was giving away.

N rose to his feet and squished his barefoot toes into the mud. Squish squish. Funny how something so tiny amused him like that. That's children for you.

"Uh, yeah. That's the same one! Zoroark and I just... fell in, and we didn't know what to do and it was all tingly and..."

N was noticing the ledge begin to give way, though.

He froze in an instant and shouted. "Mac! Watch out!!"

"W-what?!"

That was when he felt the ground make him go further down. YIKES YIKES YIKES!!! Mac, in frantic panic, tried to get out of the way and back up.

Too late. Mac's reaction caused him to spiral down even faster.

Sploosh. Right in the spring.
