Re: ARRIVALS/ATTENDENCE starwolf_leaderMarch 23 2011, 23:37:04 UTC
After this week of being a very different person, Wolf had decided to try new things. And one of them was improving his fighting ability and tactics. Which was why he decided to give the Tactics and Strategy class a try. And he was not disappointed. His first day and already it was something fairly exciting. This sounded like it was going to be fun.
SO MANY QUESTIONS.brb_lootingMarch 23 2011, 23:43:23 UTC
[Matthew has realized that this is a vest. He got that part. But it's glowing. Is it +2 to defense or something? And what's the thing on the tube attached to it? Is it some kind of flail? It's so short range that it would be extremely impractical, and it's made out of some kind of extremely light, soft metal...Well it's not metal, but what else could it be? It would hardly do any damage. His is so confused.]
Uhh sir? Please pardon my ignorance, but pray tell, what is this strange thing, and how does it work?
Re: SO MANY QUESTIONS.black_hawkeMarch 24 2011, 00:41:00 UTC
[FEAR NOT, DEAR MATTHEW. Hawke sort of raises an eyebrow but then decides to demonstrate by putting one on.]
The vest goes over your shoulders and clips at the sides. Hold the gun like this. [It is in his right hand.] When you pull the trigger, it shoots a beam of light received by a sensor in the vest.

Ahuh. Thank you, sir.
[So the "gun" shoots light magic, and then the vests absorbs it. Okay.
He's familiar with beams of light hurting people, but you can contain light magic like this and not have to study in a monastery or convent for years? Amazing. Magic infused swords were something like this, but not nearly as compact or easy to handle.
He stares at the gun for a moment longer, then correctly gets on his vest.]
How far can the light travel, and how much damage would the beam do without the vest?
[He wouldn't want to miss the vest and accidentally take someone's head off after all. Light magic can be dangerous stuff.]
[It was easier to cover more ground when she could dart through the air, so during this part of the game there was a bat fluttering about. Daytime, nighttime, the forest looked the same to her in any kind of light. Zubats were a master of swooping down and shooting weird lasers at enemies with horribly annoying accuracy. It was all a matter of knowing the sorts of places that people gravitated towards to try and void it. (It never worked.)
Swarm, swarm, swoosh and swarrrmm... that's how this was going.]
Re: 6:15 PM EXPLORIN DA FOREST! STRATEGIZIN! brb_lootingMarch 24 2011, 04:15:17 UTC
[Matthew is looking for deer trails, main pathways, and rivers. Also hills, swamps, and clearings. Just getting a general feel for the land. If he can find a nice dense patch of forest near some trails, he might be able to hole himself up in there and pick people off from above.]

[So magic, basically.]
