Who: Paula, Ness, potential guest star Duster (and potential guest star Ocelot???) What: A… D-D-DUEL DATE When: Valentine's, in the evening Where: Some…where. Rating: Something smells like cheese.
Paula had been just as confused and concerned about Valentine's Day plans. She wanted everything to be perfect. Ness had done so much for her and he meant so much to her that she wanted to repay the favor. She wanted to show him just how much he meant to her.
Oh, why were boys so difficult to understand? Anytime she even thought about talking to Ness about it, her heart started to flutter and her throat dried up. How embarrassing.
She was relieved when Ness had made the first move. And with such a romantic, simple action as a paper heart note. How could she say 'no' to that?
As she entered the common room, her eyes darted around. She finally saw Ness and the butterflies in her stomach started acting up again. Oh goodness. Hesitantly, she approached him. "H-Hi," she smiled.
He most certainly had not been doing anything embarrassing like talking to the small bouquet when Paula came into the room. Don't be ridiculous. But if he HAD, they probably would have been a nice companion for his nerves and he might have been giving them a little pep talk about how to be the best flowers they could be for a very special lady and sdiufhkdjgdfhPAULA.
So. No. That totally didn't happen. (Yes it did). They were hastily hidden behind his back, despite the fact that they had been in plain sight a second ago. Out of sight out of mind. They were totally going to be a surprise.
As nervous as his own butterflies were, his smile came easily now that she was there. "Hey," he returned cheerfully. "How are you? ..You look nice." Of course she always looked nice, but shh.

"Oh, thank you," Paula smiled, gently tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "You look nice too." She could see that something was hidden behind his back. Standing on her tip toes, she tried to peer around him.
"What do you have there?" It was pretty easy to hazard a guess considering it was Valentine's Day. But that didn't stop her heart from pounding in her ears or that jittery feeling in her stomach.
IT IS A-OKAY <3rockinmelodyMarch 2 2011, 09:13:50 UTC
Oh no Paula was being a sneaky sneak. Ness grinned and rolled back on his heels, leaning away from her prying eyes to keep his secrets safe. Not that he was going to be very good at keeping them secret for long. "Oh, uh..."
And thus the small bundle of flowers was produced. "These?" Ness held them out to her. "I thought maybe you'd like them."
Paula's smile widened. "They're lovely!" Accepting the gift, she smelled the flowers. They were so fragrant and fresh. Not to mention that they were pink, her favorite color!
"Thank you. I really like them." After another moment of marveling at the flowers, Paula asked, "Do you mind if I quickly drop these off in my room? I'd like to put them in a glass of water."
