Ness still didn't know what the heck he was doing. Talking with Poo had helped a bit but man. MAN. Ladies were hard, even if he knew what he wanted to do. But this was Paula after all. It wasn't like she was complete stranger. They knew each other really well!
Actually maybe that's why this seemed so hard. He might not have been as worried about messing everything up if the girl in question hadn't been someone he had already shared so much with. There was a whole lot more on the line to lose if he didn't do this right. Wow what a comforting thought hnnnngh.
But! He had put a plan into motion. It was not the greatest plan but it was totally a step, OK? That morning he had slipped her a pretty paper heart (that he totally cut out himself so it actually wasn't all that pretty). On it was a question of if perhaps she would like to accompany him that evening to do… something. Whatever it was she would like to do, just say the word.
