[Separate threads are preferred, but uh... small/big groups are welcome to attack too obviously.]

When one would make it to the top of the building, Dana was very much waiting for them. She flickered her tail idly, looking out to what she had controlled. Turning around to face her offenders, Dana just growled and hissed at them. This was not the pokemon form that had unleashed the roar, and she would not resort to that unless she truly needed it. Cocky in a sense, she knew that she could beat whoever it was in this form that she had taken on at the moment. Let the test of her strength vs. theirs begin!

In the instant that Dana charged at him, another bright flare lit up on his oar - this time, in the flat edge of his paddle's blade. A loud hum exploded just as the hardlight formed a oversized saw - a chainsaw made of lasers.

Lash, you are amazing.

With one hand discreetly palming something from the built-in pez dispenser in the grip of the oar, he swung the weapon knowing that the huge, cutting blade of the lightsaw gave him a reach advantage over the time god's deadly claws.

Shew knew that it was danger.

Anything regarding that damn oar was absolute danger. With the fact that it wasn't laser beam this time put her at a slight ease, but the other fact that it was still a dangerous tool kept her up on her toes.

She tried to stop herself in the middle of her stride, misplacing her bulky footing. Instead of running right for him, she was now rolling right into him, unable to stop herself at the moment.

The wide swing of his lightsaw left him open - well, Vinnie wasn't exactly the top student in Joshua's swordsmanship class yet - but at least Dana was off-balance. He had to take the risk of letting her close in order to make sure this worked.

Deftly, he planted a single Worry Seed on the stumbling dragon's body - somewhere in her hair, where it'd be hard to comb out. It was a tiny thing, but potent enough to shake a person from their focus, reach into the hidden pits of anxiety and dig them out.

Dana, you knew deep inside you that what you were doing was goddamn wrong. So Vinnie was going to give you a literal seed of doubt. Had this been his plan all along? Maybe. He had to make her rethink her actions somehow in this primal state.

Outside? She wouldn't want anything to prove that she was doing wrong, but on the inside? Looking past the creature that was causing all of this damage - the part of he that was actually trying to take control - was exceptionally thankful for what he had done. The move that he had used was going to have a slightly greater effect than planned in the future.

For now, though? As they drew closer and he planted the seed on her, she saw that he was too close for comfort. Despite the aches in her tail, she whipped it right in his direction, knowing that she'd be able to hit him. tumbling by, Dana was finally able to stop herself. With the distance again, she turned and stood, slightly leaning to the side.

A thought began to bubble in the back of her mind, one of... perhaps this was not the best way to fix what has been broken.... This was quickly dismissed, snarling and shaking her head lightly.

And her tail hit Vinnie hard, taking the wind out of him completely. For a split second his vision was stabbed with bright black bursts as pain shot across his whole body, suffocating, paralyzing, nauseating. He went limp, flying backwards several feet in the air.

The Venusaur landed in a heap, crashing against unkind concrete like a ragdoll. Vinnie lay there, unmoving for what seemed like ages before, weakly, he gave a small groan and rolled his head to the side. The way his fingers twitched and his knees dragged themselves, it looked like he was trying to curl up to protect his aching, vulnerable torso - with little success. His body had stopped listening to him.

It only took one hit, but Vinnie was out of the fight - though his grip was so tight on his oar that not even death could pry it out.

She watched his downfall with a sinister grin on her face. A kind of tooth-filled grin that seemed almost downright bloodthirsty. It seemed almost too easy to fall her prey, forgetting that he had recently sustained injuries before their skirmish. Roaring mightily, her primal instincts took hold of her again. Kill. Kill... Kill him! He deserved to die! To think that he could actually challenge a god and expect her to be anything but the victor was absolutely foolish. With all uncertainties, she had the advantage.

As she began to advance toward his body, she went a good foot before stopping. This was wrong... You know very well not to hurt the ones you love. This is not the right thing to do.

That voice! The one from before.... It had returned yet again, slightly stronger this time. Dana hissed against the soft voice that flittered through her mind. "NO...! I... WILL NOT LISTEN!" she shrieked in retaliation. There was no way some VOICE was going to make her judgment sway the other way.

Dana's conflicted shrieking was enough to pierce the muddled veil between unconsciousness and waking. Vinnie stirred, though opening his eyes seemed to be an ordeal in itself. His head felt stuffy, throbbing, and from his experience in the past few weeks, he knew that if he got up too fast then he was prone to just being sick.

The pressure that Dana had been exerting was lifted though, so he knew that the seed was at least doing something. How much of an affect it'd ultimately have on a god was certain.

The fact that she hadn't stomped a hole straight through his chest was a good sign. Forcing one eye open to watch her, Vinnie managed to squeeze a dry wheeze from his aching torso. "What... do you really want?"

What would mother think? What have you done?

The voice was actually up to the point of slightly frightening her. The legendary felt a slight knock in her knees, shakily snarling. Dana had to move. Something inside of her pressed her to start moving again. The dinosaur began to uneasily pace in an odd circle, clutching onto her head and continuously showing her fangs and snarling. The voice was very much getting to her, and the added question from Vinnie left her at her ends. It was him that did this to her, she was mentally sound - as much as a feral animal could be anyways - and was unable to figure out what he had done to her to make her begin to crack even more and fall to her norm of reality.

When he asked the question, she stopped in her tracks, not even facing him anymore. Spinning around, she let off a pained cry. "FIX THIS. I HAVE TO FIX... WHAT HAS BEEN BROKEN!!!" she began to explain, slamming her tail into the concrete. "TIME LINE. IT HAS CRACKED. I NEED... TO CLOSE IT... AS SOON AS I CAN... THE ONLY WAY I CAN!All the ( ... )

Still pretty unfamiliar with the sheer temporal variety at Smash, Vinnie really had no idea what she was talking about. Something was broken, she kept repeating that, but it was still beyond his understanding.

He could at least tell that the seed was reaching some part of her, deep down inside. For now, he was going to shut his mouth and watch this play out, because the primal Dana's inner voice was going to do a much better job fighting her than he could manage right now.

Quietly, he tried to sit up - or at least roll over and get off his back, he was way too vulnerable like this - and compose himself, without attracting too much of her notice.

Thankfully for him, she was much too busy with the worry seed to realize what he was doing. Before too long, those claws that were weaving through her hair stopped instantly. She found the source. It was.. a spherical object of sorts. Dana straight up ripped it from the roots, clenching her teeth in slight pain.

And that was the culprit. A fucking seed that Vinnie had planted on her. Now that she was free from the lingering voices, she turned her vision slowly toward Vinnie. You totally weren't wanting this to happen, were you Vin? .. Too bad bro. She turned all the way to face him, flexing her claws angrily again. "HOW...DARE YOU?...."

No, this wasn't really ideal. Vinnie had managed to lift his upper body off the ground, but everything still hurt. All the same, the Venusaur shot her an irreverent, shit-eating grin in defiance of her obvious power over him.

"Just testin' my luck," he sneered. His knuckles were white has he clenched the grip of his oar between his fingers, but he knew the fight was done.

Yeah she didn't take that grin as something friendly or playful any longer. Not that she hadn't in the first place but... whatever.

She strode over to him, right out of the reach of the oar in case he did attack her once more. Pondering it... She pondered a few things she could do to him. Looked him right in the eye and took another step. That brutally cold stare she kept. She had to get close to him, just one more time.

She wanted him out of her sight for good.

He was beginning to regain himself in the aftermath of her attack - well, thank goodness she was taking her time. There had to be something left of the Dana he had met only a short while ago in December, but it seemed like in the end, she wasn't able to win out after all. Was he wrong in trying to lay his trust on whatever glimmer of kindness she showed him once?

Vinnie forced himself onto his feet, though he still was feeling too lightheaded to stand. He was half balanced on the oar propped for support, and shooting the Dialga a seething glare along with his smirk.

Was he scared? Sure, knowing that this psycho lady could gut him like a Magikarp on a whim. But hell if he was going to show it - that was one satisfaction she wasn't going to get out of him.

Would she really kill him though? A part of him still doubted it. Probably that was some sentimental delusion, rather than genuine trust. "If this is what you really want, then fuckin' get on with it already."

Peh. He looked so pathetic. It was almost too easy to down him as she did. The way he struggled to keep himself steady, but at the same time the way his boldness just seemed to shine through.

It almost hurt her inside. It almost did. She didn't have the mentality to actually take his life. That one speckle of good that was trying to reach her kept her from that ( ... )

It was a pretty surreal experience. For a moment there, looking into the glow of her eyes, feeling the sheer pressure of her presence before him, he was without words. The weight of what it was to face a god... ha, he was an idiot, wasn't he?

Thoughts began to trickle back once the realization that his feet were being dangled off the side of the building. Mostly along the lines of shit shit shit, fucking shit, this is going to hurt. He was pretty sure it wouldn't be enough to kill him - in Venusaur form, he was capable of jumps pretty high and far. Not as high as this building, but... it was the difference between being a smear on the ground and only having all your legs broken from absorbing the impact ( ... )
