Who: Tony and Marie What: Tony vs Marie Where: Stadium, of course! When: Uh... when the spars were happening. :|b (I'll edit this with real info later) Warnings: BUT I'M NEEERRVOUS
Marie was similarly reluctant to sign up for the spars, actually erasing his name and re-writing it three times before forcing himself to walk away with his name on the sheet. And once the pairs were given, Marie was nervous all over again.
He didn't know this 'Tony' person. For all he knew, Tony could be a level 100 Raichu or something equally terrifying like Volgin. The fact that the fight would be without Red by his side just amplified how intimidating the situation was.
Oh god how was he even going to...
Finally walking into the stadium, though, Marie finally felt a little reassurance. This was clearly not a high-leveled Electric type. Just a nervous-looking boy with a ridiculous-looking hat.
"Shouldn't we shake hands first?" was Marie's reply.
"Good luck," was all Marie had to offer as he took Tony's hand with his own clammy one. He didn't have too much experience shaking hands, and was only mimicking what Vinnie had done with Max. It was a pretty weak handshake to say the least.
"I, uh... I've never sparred before. Do you know how it works?" he asked quietly, not making direct eye contact with Tony and constantly glancing over at Sasha and Vinnie in the stands.
Never sparred? And here Tony thought Marie must be used to this sort of thing but now.
Then again, he could mean 'at Smash Academy.' "It's really just your average spar." Understatement. This place was crrrazy. "You fight until your opponent goes down. I mean, there are special rules here and there, but... you'll get the hang of it in a jiffy, I suspect!"
