Coffee Time! Old Rivals?

Rouge just needed a break. Staring at screens of idiotic students gets old after a while. Caffeine was her drug of choice, and thus, coffee time it was.

Rouge entered the café and ordered a double espresso something-or-other. To her surprise, who was sitting at the table right beside the cashier but WAVE, Sonic's girlfriend and a general pain in her ass! This was too delicious an opportunity to pass up. One-upping Sonic's girlfriend, I mean.

"Why, hello there. Mind if I join you, sweetie?"

Oh lord. So much for her peaceful afternoon. Wave looked up, and making every attempt to appear like she was happy to see the bat, she said, "Not at all. Please, have a seat." Whatever Rouge wanted, Wave was sure she wasn't going to like it. "What brings you here?"

Rouge sat down and crossed her legs in her usual seductive manner. It was force of habit at this point in her life.

"Ohhhh, just taking a break from work to relax~. Watching our moron students walk the halls can be droll, I admit. But it's a living." She shrugged, but never lost her crafty grin.

She glanced over at the bar to see if her drink was ready yet.

"And you? Designing your next 'big invention'?" Rouge turned to watch the passers by along the street outside. Without turning back to Wave, she stated, "You -do- know Eggman will always be one step ahead of you, don't you?"

Wave's eye twitched. But she did her best to hide it. "Maybe, but unlike him, I don't sacrifice quality for quantity," she retorted. "I had no idea you had so much admiration for Eggman," she remarked.

Rouge scoffed. "Well, not so much admiration as an idea of his commitment. We DID work together, briefly." She stopped and scratched her chin for a moment. "Though he also insisted on riding around in a mech suit the entire time. That was a bit odd."

She placed both hands on the table and looked Wave in the eye as she stood up. "But I guess it's not much different from you lot and your hoverboards. If you'll excuse me, my drink is ready."

With a wink, Rouge left Wave alone for a minute to go collect her drink.
