"It's better than what YOU ride to get ahead," Wave mumbled under her breath after Rouge left.

"The correct term is Extreme Gear," she reminded the bat when she came back. "And it's not like you haven't used them before either," she added. "As for Eggman's mech suit, he'd probably get winded if he had to walk for more than 5 minutes at a time."

Rouge's ear twitched when she scarcely caught what Wave was muttering. A bit perturbed, she decided to leave it alone. She figured if that kind of thing was what Wave needed to feel better about herself, it's fine with her. Rouge was hoping she'd do something similar in the presence of others so she could play on it and milk her own response for all it was worth.
