Naval saw this spar as two things: A chance to prove just how far she could stand up to him, and, while she wouldn't admit it, and also a chance to fight! This was Smash Academy and when the kids aren't crunching numbers and words, they're sending their fists flying and she never really gets to take part.

She couldn't get to the stadium in her plant form, obviously, so her humanoid one had to do for this event as well (and because there will be sparring involved, she was particularly dressed now in a pink tank and matching track pants). From a lamp post high up in the seating, she spotted the wizard, all dressed up really nice. She took a good two minutes to observe from up high before she decided it was time to meet up with him.

But soon it was time to drop in. She jumped off the post and landed on the grass in his sight. There, she approached him with such a smile on his face

Kamek was just kind of basking in the sun on one of the front-seat benches when Naval dropped in seemingly out of nowhere. Likewise, Naval wore something different for the occasion. A pink tank and track pants. He eyed her the way a lazy, unmotivated cat would eye its prey.

"Nice outfit."

It was rare to see her in anything other than her usual skirts or dresses, but he supposed the same could be said for him. Er, the wizard robe and not the dresses. He wondered if Naval was really planning to fight him without changing over. She was a toothpick.

"Yer lookin' pretty sweet y'self, hon!"

Honestly, she wasn't used to wearing pants at all and could probably understand if he felt the same way now, but what she had was pretty comfortable enough for this match. Hopefully.

When Naval was only about two feet away from her opponent-slash-boyfriend, she held out her left arm in front of her, and with the snap of her fingers, thorns grew out of the arm and it now appeared like one of her old vines. She flinched at this process, but otherwise kept her cheery tone.

"I've been pickin' up some new tricks this week! 'Wanna try em out before revertin' to giant plant mode!"

Kamek was wearing some light blue slacks, an open matching suit jacket and a white blouse underneath; his cap had been neatly stored back in his dorm. He was looking pretty sharp alright, but Kamek's somewhat foul demeanor betrayed the snappiness of it.

Despite what Wendy said, he didn't find it all that troublesome to wear; just different. Must have been a girl thing. Kamek didn't know how females managed to walk around in high heels.

"You had been training all week just for this? I'll admit I'm impressed," he supposed it only made sense that Naval would be capable of sprouting vines from other parts of her body, like her hands. The notion was a bit unsettling actually, especially now that he was going to engage her in a match. Getting mangled by them tended to be completely inevitable.

"But it seems you still need to get used to the process." Was that a tinge of doubt in his voice? Ooh, yes it was. He was doing this on purpose.

"Well this darn score to settle will help me do just that, won't it?"

She had a nervous smile. Her spiked hand now curled into a fist, she dashed at him for the first strike.
