Was he going to be late? He most certainly hoped not.

Otacon had searched for days finding the perfect sushi restaurant this city had to offer, even braving the discussion forums of fdc_citylife to get the opinion of a thousand or so strangers. But Sushi Go Round it was!

He was so unfamiliar with the entire city, and so many stores looked...strange. But that would be for another day! Today he was there to teach someone about the delicious...ness of sushi and maki to Neris. A date oh wow, he was going up in the world. If only he knew she was a mermaid.

And there she was! The sound of her sweet musical voice wasn't too hard to spot and he ackwardly gave her a small wave. Should be give her a kiss on the cheek or or or or...he grew red for a minute and just put his hand down after realizing he'd been waving for a few seconds.

"...hey."

Neris stopped in mid-note when she saw a familiar figure waving towards her. Oh, there he was! She gave a bright smile and waved back. Oh, did she look too excited to see him? She lowered her hand and placed it on her cheek to check if she was blushing.

"Hello! I almost thought I got lost and came to the wrong place!" She replied with a small laugh.

You know how forest fires expand as the head touches one thing to another? Well, the whole thing was awkward city.

"O-oh! I almost got lost too!" More of a nervous laughter. He stepped in front of her and opened the door. That was how you did it, right? You have to be polite (or at least most anime seemed to tell him that.)

"H-here. There's a reservation in my name for a table of two."

Neris curiously gazed at the inside of the restaurant. Everything seemed so strange! There was a counter with a person dressed in weird white clothes standing behind it. It somewhat reminded her of...

"It reminds me of a bar!" She blurted out, not too loudly though, as she gazed over at the counter.

"That simply depends which part we sit," he explained. "The bar, is where you can watch the cooks prepare the food. It's a fun experience, but not as...intimate." Haha he was turning another shade of red, good job Otacon.

Stammering at the hostess, he was able to pronounce his name in some way, and they were eventually led to a small room, with mats and a table.

"H-here we are.."
