Re: Second Part of Class! Make clay people!crescentpanelsAugust 21 2010, 12:47:26 UTC
Okay, this was all... very far from literature. Was her instructor really knowing what he was doing? Selene was really beginning to question this.
Regardless, she was one to do as told, even when it looked very suspicious. That surely wouldn't end well for her. And thus, she began to shape the clay.
It wound up in a very terribly-molded stick figure that could be placed into the village. She wasn't very good at the arts.
Selene gave a smile, slightly forced due to her confusion, but partially genuine nonetheless. This was just-
"Ah, yes, I do quite like it~ I hadn't believed I'd be able to do this well," she commented. It still wasn't really that great, though, but to her, it was better than she thought she could do.
It was looking like this was just a build-up to a piece of literature regarding the importance of life. That was it, right? That had to be it.
Selene gave her answer. "Every creature has a soul given to them from the heavens, and it is most certainly a precious gift of life. It is time on this planet that must be cherished every second. Would you not agree?"

Bonechill smirked at the little village, already pleased with how this plan was going.
"Everyone, pay close attention."
He pointed to a little school full of small clay children. One of the children threw something at the teacher, and as the teacher yelled at the children, the whole miniature classroom laughed.
Bonechill curled his upper lip in disdain, and spread his hand over the model school. Frost began to form, and soon the small classroom was completely frozen, the high-pitched clay children's screams of horror fading away.
Bonechill brought a clenched fist down on the school and the building shattered.

Okay, now Selene was astounded in a more worried by how this was turning out. Were those clay people really alive? They... They were screaming! How could her teacher do something as horrific as this?
She gaped, her mouth cupped over her hand as she witnessed the terrifying spectacle. What was even going on? She expected fine literature, not ghastly clay person death!

"I'm sure you are all wondering why I called you all to my classroom on a Saturday." he started.
He turned heel and flared his wings.
"However, that is not important."
He turned again and grinned at the class.
"What is your favorite fruit?"

Selene felt she had no choice but to answer without questioning, though. Surely it just had a meaning to be revealed later?
"Ah- apricots, sir."

Several apricots appeared on Selene's desk.

She wasn't quite going to touch these or eat these yet. Maybe they'd have importance soon?

Bonechill snapped and clay appeared on everyone's desks.
"You will each make a person out of clay to put in this village."
He gestured to a small-scale village on his desk. Was that there a minute ago?
"Begin."

It was quite grotesque, in his rude opinion, though he supposed Selene had tried her hardest.
"Tell me, Ms. Selene, do you feel quite satisfied with your creation?"

With a flash of blue, the figures came to life, going about their everyday business in the little village.
"How quaint."

Selene was completely wordless by now. How, oh how did he ever do that?
This was strange. Strange and confusing. It was also a bit interesting, though. She slowly clapped, obviously kind of amazed.

"Ms. Selene. What is it that defines life? A consciousness? The mere ability to move and make sound? What is life, in your opinion?"

"What is the matter, Ms. Selene? Were they not merely lumps of clay? Did they not deserve it?""

"That was- That was a terrible demonstration-! Sir... why?" That was all she could stammer. "Were they really living?"
