Cast: Brendan Birch, Gardevoir (Voile)
Date: Somewhere between this afternoon and tomorrow night.
Location: Hoenn (Lilycove, et cetera)

Brendan was always a little off on fully understanding the Pokémon's feelings, just like with his party... So when Voile drew close to him, Brendan blinked in confusion and concern.

"Are you okay? Did the huge crowd get to you?"

Way to go, Brendan; and you're striving to be a Pokémon Professor in the future... But Gardevoirs were able to feel other living things' emotions. Maybe she was overwhelmed with all the emotions in the contest hall?

It was sweet of him to worry. She supposed she should have expected it, too. So she tapped his forearm reassuringly.

"I'm fine. You look like you're enjoying yourself. I thought it was cute."

Cute for a human. Cute for a trainer. Cute for a boy. Something like that.

"Oh, that's good." Brendan said with a relieved sigh before laughing a bit, slightly embarrassed, at the last part. "Me, cute? I never thought someone would think like that... but thanks, I guess?"

Then the audience applauded at the contestants and the judges started giving out their ratings for each contestant Pokémon. The ratings went up on a screen starting from the lowest.

"Oh man, I hope that Delcatty wins... But it's a really hard challenge when there's a Milotic in the rivals..." Brendan mumbled to himself as he anxiously watched the names appeared on the screen.

And that kind of reaction right there? That was strangely endearing too. She almost said something more on it, but then she refrained and instead the moment applause came from those around them, she was quick to follow suit. Of course, she didn't quite make the same sounds, but that seemed acceptable. She was just one of the crowd, after all, and sometimes that was the best position to be in.

"Hm... I don't know... Milotics are awfully pretty. I sometimes think if I hadn't been a Gardevoir, that I would have wanted to be a Milotic."

When she thought about it though, it sounded silly to think like that. She was really fine the way she was, feelings and everything. Although it was probably ten times easier being a Milotic.

"I really liked how the Delcatty performed during the dance... But the Milotic raised the bar by a lot. If it weren't in the contest, the Delcatty would easily place first."
