...just as Lash was getting out of the shower. It didn't take long for her to spot the man.

Three for three, Jake.

"Hey, what the hell are you doing here?! Don't you know how to knock?!"

How the hell did this keep happening? Jake clearly had the worst luck ever. But needless to say, he wheeled right around and slammed the door behind him. "Sorry! I want to talk!" he immediately said. He wasn't flustered. Not this time. By now he was only thinking "Oh god, not again."

But lo! The oddest thing happened, as Lash reappeared just a few minutes later and opened the door for him. She was dressed up in springtime clothes, her hair slowly drying up and sticking in the air. She didn't look angry in the least.

"Don't worry about it. I was just surprised to see you there, that's all." She sat on her bed. "What's up?"

Well, that went better than the last two times this happened. Seeing she wasn't mad, he let himself back in. "Well, I thought we should talk for a bit," he told her. "I've been worried about you."

Oh dear. She had been expecting one of them to confront her about her behavior lately. Sneaky wasn't Lash's fort. Still, she had expected Rachel or even Nell to contact her first before Jake did. It didn't mean that she wasn't going to play dumb for a bit. She gave him a smile.
