"Sounds like you had it pretty bad." Knuckles replied. "Someone following you? Maybe it was another person who had the jones for the girl you were after? Or maybe their actual boyfriend, if they have one."

He scratched at his chin. "Who were you smitten with anyhow?"

Yeah, he figured someone was like that when he thought about it. Considering who it was, too.

"Miss Erika. Y'know, the Botany teacher? She's such a sweet lady; she forgave me and everythin' and dropped it. We're still friends, too. But I still feel really bad 'bout it, she didn't need that."

Knuckles nodded. "Yeah, she didn't. I don't think anyone really needed it. Though, she should look on the bright side - there's plenty WORSE people who could have been chasing after her than a good guy like yourself. Could have been Eggman. Or that Cyrus guy."

He drained the last of his bottle and indicated to the Barkeep that two more of the same would be required. "...and on the reverse side of things, you DEFINITELY could have picked worse to be interested in for the day."

"Y-yeah, I guess that's true...Oh, definitely not Cyrus! That's guy's just creepy! What happened to you that day?" Then that was when Knuckles seemed to order another round. "Oh hey, I got this one, Knux. This one's on me." He then drank down the rest of his smoothie.

"Yikes... well, that same friend who got arrested? I fell for her - Only, she's my best friend's girlfriend and we've worked together as a team pretty much since she came to school here. It's Wave the Swallow."

He gratefully accepted the beer and sipped at it a little less forcefully this time. "And the worst part was, Sonic saw me hitting on her, tried to put a stop to it and we wound up fighting. I decked him and threw a chunk of sidewalk at him. After that it all kinda gets fuzzy because that log isn't finished either"
