Apple Kid and Orange Kid - A Tale of Growth Rays

Characters: Apple Kid, Orange Kid, maybe Knuckles, and then maybe EVERYONE EVER.
What: Apple Kid and Orange Kid have made a growth ray together to make Apple Kid bigger
Where: A science lab
When: Sept. 18th, 2009
Warnings: Mysterious odors, odd smudges, Orange Kid Annoyance Level Factor 9

( This can't possibly go horribly wrong! )

Orange Kid groaned in annoyance; he was more than a little annoyed having to obey Apple Kid's tiny, high voiced instructions, and having to use Apple Kid's spare parts instead of Orange Kid's own, pristine materials. Not to mention the smell. Orange Kid hadn't thought it possible, but Apple Kid actually smelled WORSE now, even at such a tiny size. Additionally, on more than one occasion, Apple Kid had been completely WRONG. The growth ray wouldn't produce nearly enough power to actually accomplish anything noticeable. So Orange Kid had taken the liberty of fixing Apple Kid's mistakes for him while Knuckles wasn't paying attention.

Orange Kid finished connecting the wire, before flicking a switch. The growth ray hummed to life, ready to make things grow. "There, it's done. You owe me for helping you out with this, you know."

"Okay!" said Apple Kid, happy that finally the ordeal was over. He hoped.

"We should probably test it on something first. Can you find something that we can make bigger in the lab?" Apple Kid, in the back of his mind, was slightly hesitant about it all. He'd never known Orange Kid to put together a machine that worked how it was supposed to.

Orange Kid scoffed egotistically. "Please, it works fine! I built every single part myself! Everything I make ALWAYS works perfectly. You're worrying about nothing, Apple Kid. Now stop complaining so we can get you back to normal, alright?"

Then again, a lot of the things Orange Kid made only worked one time and then they broke. It was possible that if it worked it would only work the one time.

"Well, okay," he said carefully. "Then please put me on the floor. And turn it on."

"Good," Orange Kid said, before setting Apple Kid on the floor, then stepping back and aiming the ray at him. "Now don't worry, it'll be over in a second." Orange Kid activated the growth ray, and a mysterious beam fired from it, and went straight towards Apple Kid. It appeared to work fine. Apple Kid got bigger and bigger, and soon enough he was his normal size.

"Ha!! See? Told you it would work fine. After all, I am a..." Orange Kid stopped suddenly, staring in shock. Apple Kid was still getting bigger. And bigger. And bigger.

How much bigger could he get?!
