It even took Rawk Hawk a moment to compose himself, but when he did, his beak burst into a gigantic grin. "Damn! Beat me to it! Har!"

Ganondorf raised his hand that was still holding Rawk Hawk's joyfully.

"WOOOOOOO! IN YOUR FUCKING FACE, APAROIDS!!!"

"Bitches got RAWKED!" he agreed heartily, then his eyes lit up, as if he remembered something. He quickly switched to his human form. "Hey, uh, Gan. Har! I kinda told myself I would do somethin' if we got through this..."

Rawk Hawk got down on one knee, and pulled a small box out of his speedo. He flipped it open to reveal a blindingly bright ring, the diamond a perfect replica of Rawk Hawk's head.

"Would you do me the honor of makin' me your Gerudo Queen?"

This... was not how Jeff remembered it last time.

Oh well. It was over. It was all over. That's all that mattered.

If he wasn't already on his knees he would have dropped to them now. He buried his face in his hands, shoulder shaking with silent sobs of relief.

Everything Lucas had said about not being a crybaby anymore was out the window. He was sobbing -- and laughing -- with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Awe. Relief. Joy. It was a miracle. There was no other word for it. Somehow, a bunch of hopeful voices had called up a tiny, enormous miracle.

He didn't know what else to do, so he just held Jeff and laugh-sobbed and smiled until his face hurt and all he could possibly think to say about any of it was "Thank you."

Jeff peeked through his fingers at Lucas, clearly perplexed. Despite it all, the laughter was pretty infectious, and soon he was laughing too - why? None of it was funny at all. But he felt so good now that it was all over.

"W-what're you thanking me for?"

"I-I don't know," Lucas confessed in between breathless laughs. "I just... you were the one who took me with you. You were there when I was more scared then I'd ever been in my life. You knew what to do, you... I-I couldn't have done it if I was alone, Jeff. You... th-thank you."

Wait a minute... was Kumatora crying?

Why yes, yes she was.

Kumatora, were you crying?

...Why, yes, she was. W-well. This was a first. You know, she looked kind of cute.

She was also not letting go. Ever.

That was a-ok with him. As long as he could still, you know, breathe, he was good.

Colin was, of course, crying too. That was the scariest thing ever. And it was way past his bedtime.

Max ripped off a part of his tank top that was still dry and silently gave it to Colin.

Colin dabbed at his eyes with it, trying to blow on it at the same time so it would be dry so he could return it to Max when he was finished with it, but this seemed like a futile pursuit when it was soaked after a few moments.

That's okay, Colin. Max would have to sew it back on and Max isn't very good at that sort of thing.

He put a large, meaty hand on Colin's shoulder. "You did good, Colin," Max managed through the tears. "You did good."

Slippy didn't notice his arwing was somehow on the ground. He was just staring at everything unfolding...then he proceeded to sob tears of joy.

From wherever he was, Wolf made a point to make a quick private comment to Slippy over the communicators....even if the kid probably did hate him by this point.

"Well done, Slippy. Bet your father will be real proud of his war hero son."

Slippy went quiet before uttering a quiet. "Yeah..."

He went quiet again before opening his mouth once more. "Wolf...." He was still angry but felt obligated to say this.

"Thanks for helpin' me during the war..."

Wolf was pretty silent, too. For someone who'd found out so much about him within such a short while...some pretty damning things, this was a big deal.

"I...didn't help you, kid. You did all of that yourself. I just had your back like any good pilot would...because you're my teammate."
