"...I ran into a few problems at the office. Actually, I had to resign. Too bad."

Colin was, of course, crying too. That was the scariest thing ever. And it was way past his bedtime.

Max ripped off a part of his tank top that was still dry and silently gave it to Colin.

Colin dabbed at his eyes with it, trying to blow on it at the same time so it would be dry so he could return it to Max when he was finished with it, but this seemed like a futile pursuit when it was soaked after a few moments.

That's okay, Colin. Max would have to sew it back on and Max isn't very good at that sort of thing.

He put a large, meaty hand on Colin's shoulder. "You did good, Colin," Max managed through the tears. "You did good."

"I-I tried, Max, sir." That was all he could manage before noisily blowing his nose into the clothing scrap.

"Did real good," A certain gruff voice chimed in with Max. Lighter smiled down at Colin in an almost fatherly way. He was definitely heading home to see Fuel as soon as he could and never let him go. But for now...

"Good to see you again, kid. ...Sir."

"Private Lighter!" Colin exclaimed. "I didn't expect to see you... are you still enlisted with Blue Moon?"

Um, so Genny kind of just rammed into Lighter in a very rude way, and grabbed little Colin's shoulders, tears streaming unabashedly down his face because he's an immature Shy Guy, after all.
"S-SOLDIER..."

Was this Genny collapsing into the shorter kid's shoulder? Ahaha, oh yes it was.
"P-PLEASE COME BACK TO THE SCHOOL!"

"S-s-sir!" he exclaimed, his stutter even heavier than usual. Colin was starting to wonder if this wasn't a bizarre illusion world created by Giygas to make him let his guard down. First, Olaf called him family, and now this?

...No, this was real. Colin couldn't help but give the General a hug, ignoring how wet his uniform's shoulder was getting. "I-I'll have t-to speak with Sasha, sir, but I w-would like to do that. Very much."

Genny had done quite a good job of holding it in up until now, the thrill of the war keeping him in relatively good spirits, and even since he came to the school only tearing up once and a while when Char was especially abusive. He was just glad his army couldn't see him now, unabashedly sobbing his eyes out.
"I... I MISSED YOU. I MISSED YOU, COLIN. YOU'RE M-MY CLOSEST FRIEND."
Obviously Gigyas had done a number on him.

"It... it's okay, sir! I'll figure something out. I'm certain Sasha can handle things! Y-you're my best friend too... I d-don't want to go again!" he yelled, pulling Genny a little tighter. "I'll stay, I p-promise."
