This tree had been... well, nearly impossible to miss, one of the first things the school's nurse had seen on leaving the building, and right away, the task she'd left the school to do in the first place left her mind.
Catherine hurried over, a grin on her face.

"Oh, this is wonderful! You know, I was wondering when we were going to be getting ourselves a tree... It's beautiful! Oh, you don't mind if I help out with the decorating, do you?"

No shut up Wolf wasn't stalking Birdo

As was the case with everyone else, Wolf was drawn outside to the giant tree as well. He just happened to catch a glimpse of a perfectly pink female rushing towards the pine, and Wolf followed closely after.

He stepped up behind Catherine and placed a hand on her shoulder, grinning at her.

"And I don't suppose I could help, too?"

Flint gave them a smile and a tip of his hat. Ah, to be young and in love again.

"Help yourselves, there's plenty of space for everyone here."

AW FLINT <3

Wolf gave the cowboy a grin and bowed his head ever so slightly...because...something about this guy just commanded respect.

"Thank you, sir."

Zelda sat on a bench, drinking from her thermos of hot chocolate. She hadn't brought any decorations, but it was always fun to watch others.

She did feel a slight pang of sadness. That had to be a very old tree -- she didn't like the idea of cutting down trees that withstood time so well. But, what was done was done, and she wasn't going to make a fuss about it.

((This would be after Daisy's done decorating.))

Daisy spotted Zelda and walked over, waving at her.

"Hey, Zelda! You wouldn't mind a little company, would you? I'm out of decorations, and my feet are starting to hurt."

She sat down with a relieved breath, and looked up at the now-decorated tree. For once, Daisy was silent, if only for a minute.

"... It's beautiful, huh?" she said softly, not taking her eyes off of it.

"Yes. I just love watching what others put it. It's interesting to see what kinds of people the school has gathered." Zelda took a sip of chocolate. "It all comes together nicely."

Daisy nodded in agreement. "It's like a little piece of all of us joined together on that tree..."

She continued her wistful gaze at the tree until she remembered something and chuckled.

"Hey, Zelda... the twins made ornaments out of Deku Nuts. Isn't that too cute? It was hard getting them, though... they tried shooting them out, but they kept exploding. Took trial and error to figure out they could control the force of it and just spit them out," she giggled.

Blacky's first suspicion was when she glanced out her window and saw a trail of pine needles in the snow. She put on a light jacket and followed it, but she didn't have to keep her eyes to the trail to locate the enormous tree that was most definitely not there yesterday.

"..."

She turned back and retreated inside her dorm.

A few minutes later, she emerged with a small box she handled with the utmost care, and joined the group at the tree. "Goodness. Who do we owe this magnificent surprise to?"

Falcon had just gotten out of a meditation session with Poo and boy, was he in a foul mood.

He was trudging back from the parking lot with every intention of getting in the car, going back to the apartment and having a stiff drink, but the tree and the steadily growing crowd of people around it was a distraction he couldn't really ignore.

Not really in the mood to deal with people but not wanting to miss out on the festivities, he hung back a little bit, watching the holiday goings-on with mild interest. He'd talk if he was approached.

Somewhere... Somebody was keeping an eye on Falcon.

TSUNTSUN.

Of course the cop didn't notice the older man's mood at all. He was too wrapped up in the tree to notice a thing haha Feeny, you've missed so much in that silly future world you come from wrong with him.

Before he had joined the crowd in the staring and decorating of the tree, he wrapped an arm around Falcon, grinning. "I've never seen a try this large in my life! It's amazing!"

...Why was he being touched.

Feeny was not on the list of people allowed to touch him.

And Falcon was not in the mood for brotherly love. Scowling, he raised a hand to petulantly remove the other man's arm from around his shoulder.

"It's a big one." He sighed, straining to be polite.

Some crashing and dragging sounds. Numerous chattering voices. What a commotion.

Samus wasn't anywhere near the tree, but she had a beautiful view of it, and consequently everyone gathering around the newly hacked piece of lumber currently gracing the middle of the school. It was hard to miss. The blonde leaned over the railing of the teacher's dorm balcony and watched with great interest as everyone added their own unique touches to the tree...

She felt out of place just watching it.

"My, it's a beautiful tree, isn't it, Ms. Aran?"

Syrup had decided to spend a little extra time at the school for the evening, having grown a little bored of her hotel room, and let's face it, she had nothing better to do.

She came up to Samus, a mug full of hot cocoa in her hand. She took a sip.

"You don't mind a bit of company, do you, dearie?"

"Hn?" Samus had almost accidentally put herself in a broody trance; half fascinated with the intricate decorations and lights on the tree and half wondering what she never really bothered to celebrate all these years. A lot was on her mind, as always. This year was going to be different for her. The woman approaching her, mug in hand snapped her out of it.

Well, what could she say? No? ...well.. Yeah, Samus was just the type that would. They had never been too terribly acquainted. Maybe a passing glance in the hallway or in the teacher's lounge but that was about it. She reminds me a lot of Jolene...

"Syrup, right?" The blonde's eyes didn't seem to avert from the tree for more than a few seconds. "...It is a pretty tree."

"Yes, Maple Syrup. Nice to finally catch up with you."

Syrup joined Samus in leaning over the balcony, careful not to spill her drink.

"... You know, I've never decorated a Christmas tree in my entire life," she said quietly. "Being at sea most of my life prevented that from ever happening. Whenever I did see someone with a tree, I couldn't help but feel a bit jealous, no matter how beautiful it was."

She looked at Samus. "The whole concept is foreign to me... I don't like admitting it, but it's a little intimidating, watching this. That's one of the reasons I didn't join them outside."
