[Vianca, as per usual, has not been using her network account very much. She checks it frequently, but her replies are few and far between. This is not a surprise

[Caim has nowhere interesting to be, really.
He never has anywhere interesting to be, minus the greenhouse. Pulling up all the Pikmin for Ai. But there is Vianca. He remembers her. She stares as blankly as he does.
But she has books. He hasn't forgotten that she likes to read. He actually enjoys reading as well. Well. It's tolerable. He doesn't really enjoy anything. At least that's what he'll say.
Still. Books. And she is Ai's sister-thing. He should get to know her. He oh-so-inconspicuously sits on the other side of her tall stack of books. And if there's no space, you can assume he's sitting on the ground.]
Magic was intuitive. Vianca had a point. It was. Caim had been taught to hone his abilities, but they were not things he could simply read in a book and know how to do. He'd had to do a lot of self searching. That kind of thing wasn't easy either.
He motioned after writing, crossing his left hand over his heart.]
"It is not something so easily discovered. It requires finding the strength on the inside to do so. Magic is not something that can be handed over to you. It requires a kind of inherent nature."
[And how did one go about doing that? By reading books? How had he? And just because he'd done it one way did not necessarily mean that she could do it the same way he had. What a convoluted mess.]
"How is it coming along?"
[It was about that time in which he understood that he'd interrupted her.]
[She considered it a moment, wondering just how it was coming along. Vianca hadn't expected to find an easy answer in her books, and she hadn't, but they had been a worthwhile supplement. She had been hoping to find other people's processes and perhaps attempt to emulate them. Even if most of the books were rubbish, the pikmin had still felt them worthwhile since she was bound to read all of them at some point anyway, even if she hadn't been trying to pick up a staff.
Tangents aside, she wasn't entirely sure how much closer she was to really feeling the spirits she was trying to speak to.]
[Strange how it was one word that could actually make him give the slightest smile. Perhaps it was because she reminded him of a child then. Perhaps it was just how serious she looked. He couldn't say for sure what it was at all, but he was oddly amused by her response.]
"I'm sorry for impeding your work."
[If he'd said it, he imagined it would have been softer coming from him, as though he'd interrupted Furiae during her studies.]
"If you represent a particular element, or if the staff you are using does, that is the first idea you will want to pursue. For people who are gifted with the ability to utilise magic generally focus on a main elemental attribute. Some, however, are capable of using many, and even all."
I DID. FOR WEEKS.whitetoxinNovember 1 2011, 03:14:47 UTC
[Vianca peered at his words, nodding along slightly with them. Some of her books had detailed similar concepts. This idea made a fair amount of sense. Applying elements to pikmin was actually fairly easy. They were rather conveniently color coded in that regard, generally. Though Vianca's was not entirely an element. At least not in the traditional sense. It was also rather opposite of what she was attempting to go for, being poison and all. Vianca supposed she was going a bit against the grain.]
"It is light magic. I will discover if that is something I can wield.
GOOD. I HOPE YOU HAD LOTS OF DREAMS.voice_of_animusNovember 5 2011, 00:22:04 UTC
[It brought an interesting question to mind. She was going to 'discover' if she had the ability to wield it. How else did one discover anything other than a 'guess and check' method? He personally wouldn't have done it. But then Caim knew of his abilities and his limitations. He also had a dragon to lend him a hand with such things.
He assumed Vianca had nothing like this.]
"Simply by doing? Have you really no one to help you? Surely a priest is capable of light magic."
[Although it did occur to him that Rhys had offered to assist and she may have turned him down.]
