Well, I haven't seen any of these movies yet! Wonderful rec list, and I will try to check some of them out. I really need to get a Netflix account. Perhaps that is something I will sign up for when I finally get into my new place in a couple of weeks.

I really like having Netflix. It's not always the best in terms of what you get for the money, because I have gone an entire month without watching the movies I have from them and so that's pretty much a waste, but the convenience of having it sent to the house, of being able to watch when I want to, and not having any pressure to return it until I'm good and ready (I can watch the movie several times, watch all the special features, check out the commentary) is worth the extra cost to me. And I really, really love being able to browse the recommendations and new releases, and see what my friends are watching... and they seriously have just about everything that exists on DVD. When I'm in the mood to watch movies, they do turn them around pretty quickly too--I send one in and have my next one in 2-3 days, depending on whether my mail person holds it hostage.

Oh, I'll have to see the Judi Dench movie. She is so great.

Another movie with a Native American theme is Dance Me Outside. I liked it better than Smoke Signals, and really deals with reservation life and the culture differences between NA and Caucasian Americans in a thoughtful manner. And Adam Beach is in it too! Sadly, I don't think its available via Netflix. I just checked. Sorry.

I'll keep an eye out for Dance Me Outside. Looks like it's just on VHS for now, but maybe it will show up on DVD (or I'll come across it on TV or something). Thanks for the tip!

Hey! I LOVED Elizabethtown. I was really surprised it got mixed reviews. It was excellent!

I haven't seen the rest of them though, I'll have to add them to my queue on Netflix. I love netflix!
