Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! It´s amazing how easily you can project their thoughts and emotions. I like an empathic Dave giving Emily the feeling of security. I like Emily learning to let go of her fears and demons.
This passage makes my knees wobbly:
When she comes, it’s more than just a physical release. Something inside her, something that has been lonely and scared for far too long, gives way. She’s lighter somehow, free. For the first time in her life, she’s not afraid of the emotions that are flooding through her. She welcomes them, and the tears that were only threatening before now leak from her eyes, leaving silvery tracks on her skin. This is plainly gorgeous. So insightful and mature.
Yes, you´re my favorite Dave/Emily writer. Way to go!

You know what this is? This story is a quiet, contented sigh. From the beginning inhale as they're sitting on the couch to the very end, the release of pent up emotion, that's what this is. It's a lovely long, drawn-out sigh.
