What a great idea for a fic! I love how you executed it and had both Burke and Izzie return to check up on their loved ones. It's true, the shooting had to be on the news. There's no way they (or at least Izzie) weren't aware of it.

I don't care so much about Burke anymore and the writers messed up Own/Cristina very badly. So I know I like your fic I just don't want to see Burke coming back.

The Izzie/Alex one is so bittersweet. The whole mess about Katherine Heigl and her contract still pisses me off because Izzie was my favorite character and we waited so long for Izzie/Alex to happen. So I am happy that Alex asked for her in the finale because they can't just ignore their history but I don't know how they want to solve this mess. Heigl is not coming back so there will be no finale farewell or happy end - at least not on screen... Bahhhh I am just sad my OTP ended like this...

Anyway: Great fics like always! And I agree with you on the finale: It was amazing. The give us so much shit during the season but they write great finales. haha

I read this days ago and didn't leave feedback because I was lazy, but I just reread it and loved it just as much now as I did then.

Burke has always been a favorite of mine and I still miss him at times. And, honestly, I always thought he and Cristina were honestly mean to be even if he did 'take pieces of herself' or whatever (I never did buy that speech) and I love that you got that so effortlessly in this piece. The way she leans on him, even now, even after all years because *this* did happen exactly this way in my personal canon.

As for the Izzie stuff. Well done, of course. Alex/Izzie is the first ship I ever really got behind on this show (go figure)and even though I sort hated her at the end -- even though I think a lot of that hate came from KH -- I still can appreciate this because he still loves her and she still felt like she was doing the right thing.

And as a final sidenote and slight rant:

Her and George, they used to be the heart.Probably my favorite line in fic right now. Could be because I was watching the

I never bought the way they ended Burke/Cristina because it was so clearly due to cast issues (like everything else on this show, lol) so, yeah, I believe they were meant to be. The writers can kiss my ass.

A/I was my OTP. It will forever be my OTP -- but that didn't mean I liked Izzie by the end, for sure, so I know what you mean.

Also, your rant? I've so been there. Reruns are...interesting to watch at this point.
